Boxer Pal
Hi everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I have recently purchased a 9 month old male boxer, he's my first boxer & i have to say that he's defently the most energetic dog i have ever owned. I've had Dobermans before (2 of them) but thought a Boxer would be a great dog to own with my family. He's great with my son but not so much with my cat, i'm pretty sure he wants to play with him but my cat is scared of him, not terrified, just scared. He tends to want to stand over my cat to show his dominance but thats when i get scared and i think he might hurt my cat, any suggestions of what i might do to get them to like each other a little?
I've never seen him be aggressive with anyone or any other dogs, he plays great with them, but he seems a little different when it comes to my cat.

Thanks

Hi and welcome.
My experiance with dogs and cats is that they generally work things out on their own. The cats usually win!
Just watch them, but I'm sure they will get used to each other and things will be fine.

A great big boxer hello from Roxi, Harley and me! Welcome to the best boxer resource around!

Just make sure kitty has a dog free area to escape to and they should be fine.

Yes he does, he runs and goes downstairs, i figure they will work it out on their own, i just wish it was sooner than later, ah well, in good time i guess.

Welcome to BW from Ruby, Foreman, Cooper and I :)

In my experience with Boxers and Cats the boxers want to play with the cats all the time and finally give up when they are around 2 years old if the cat hasn't started playing back. So make sure kitty has her place and they will work out their boundries
