Henry joined our family a little over a week ago and at 16 weeks I hadn't seen a kidney bean from him or even something that looked like one. He may have some mix in him, his nose is longer, he's huge (29 lbs so far,) and would be the most laid back boxer I've ever seen, so I wasn't sure how much boxer would come through though.

He sleeps with me and I carry him downstairs and outside every morning because I've been scared of puppy leaks  but I've been trying to get him to walk to the door in longer distances everyday. When he saw that Emma had woken up to great him and had gotten good morning kisses he couldn't stop doing boxer kidney beans! appicon I was so proud! His little butt couldn't stop.

Thought it would be cute to hear at what age you started to see distinct boxer traits in your fur kids...

Congrats on the Henry's first kidney bean! My Arabella was 4 yrs before she evr did her first woo-woo. She had always done more of a pirate arrrggghhh, but not a true woo-woo. She still doesn't do them often.

I think that Toby was around 12 weeks when all of his little boxerism started to kick in. He's 7 1/2 months now. The backing up and sitting in our laps like he was human, laying his head on the couch or anywhere on us like it weighed a ton, leaning on us every chance that he gets, zooming like crazy...they are funny little characters and I am so glad that we decided to go a second round with Toby after loosing Rebel 2 years ago life just wouldn't be the same without a boxer in our family :) Sometimes when he does the kidney bean dance I'm afraid he might break into! Lol

Lucy has been boxer from the day we brought her home at six weeks! Just recently though at 11 months she started to do the whole, I'm human and will sit like one. It is so funny. She kinda sorta woo woos, but only if prodded, and she really gets going if I do it too, kind of like she is telling me, hey IM the Boxer, I get to woo woo the loudest. LOL

so sweet ~the kidney bean so early!

Seamus waited until about 3 months to do a 'full kidney', but he had all of the other quirks immediately! He was trained by an older boxer brother, though, so maybe he learned from big bro. Glad you get the kidney bean, and it must be adorable in such a young pup!

GDOGS1

Boxer Insane
If my memory serves me correctly I think GDOGS was around 4 months when he done his first kidney bean and has only Woo Wooed maybe 3 times and 2 of those times was when he was asleep on the couch. He also does the rest of the breeds quirky things such as bashing into the side of another dog while they run side by side and last but not least the ever popular jack hammer.

I think i first saw Maya do a half kidney bean dance at 8 weeks old. But she did it when my cat Roscoe came to greet her. She gets excited when she sees that cat, i don't know why since he "taught" her to respect him in his own manner. LOL. A few pawed slaps and hisses here and there.

When you say Kidney bean, do you mean when they bend their whole body in a horseshoe shape and put their butt in another dogs face, but sniffing the other dog at the same time?? lol, Chevy did that from the moment we brought her home at 8 weeks. She did it to her older brother and we were so bewildered because she is our first boxer. Since having her, we've noticed other boxers doing it and heard other owners telling us about it. We all find it funny that our dogs have the same quirks, including the way the Boxers will walk over to their companions and flop their body on top of them.. just laying all over the other dogs. haha, so funny.. :)

Raine is a kidney beaning fool. She does it all the time. My neighbor asked me once what was wrong with her when she was "trying" to walk towards her at the fence. I said she wanted to make sure the neighbor saw both ends at the same time!
I can get her to do it on command now by asking "Whats your butt do?"

Bowserbeans

Boxer Buddy
Bowser is almost 6 months and he kidney beans quite a bit when he's excited. He only woo-woos when he's really worked up! Like if I've left him alone for a few hrs and come home he woowoos loudly at me as if to say "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MOTHER?!"
