My new 5 month old female Brandie is constantly "humping" my 6 month old male Rocky. He doesn't like it one bit but she does it a lot. When I brought her home I thought I would have problems with Rocky jumping on her.. not the other way around.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, Molly did it for a while to her older brother. Thankfully he didn't really care and just sat there like get this crazy girl off me ma.;) It was a phase that passed and she doesn't do it anymore. Now she just sits on his head instead.

Kailee did this with our male when she first moved in. And now that Clyde has joined our family, she was back at her old tricks again for a few days. It is a dominance thing and nothing more. In both cases it did stop once Kailee established her role as Queen queenicon of the home.

 I have two girls and they hump each other all the time! My Baylee actually also tries to hump my husband sometimes. :)

It's a dominance thing, no need to worry...unless they try to do it to you and then you may have trouble b/c they think they're alpha over you.

Definitely has nothing to do with sex and more to do with "I'm the boss around here and you better accept it!"

Clhloe, female humps Piper, male, at least once when they are playing. We have to tell her, "Chloe you are a GIRL!!"

You think that's bad...my female peke (at The Bridge now) humped my male cat ALL the time. And he'd just sit there.

Ginger also does this to Hammer on occasion. Like Barb said, it's a dominance issue, not sexual!

We have 2 girls and 2 boys and when they are playing if one starts to hump, usually Brandi, they all get in on it. My hubby calls it a Hump-A-Thon or Hump-Fest
It seems that the girls start it most of the time (sometimes at the wrong end). I think it is their way of winning if the boys get the best of them, or like my hubby says they are saying "@#*%!-you" to the boys.
Our neighbors cat used to hump their Basset, now that was a funny sight because the dog would lay upside down like it was afraid.
