I have two female Boxers Ginger 3yrs. & Roxy10 months and they get along perfectly. They sleep together cuddled up next to each other and play all of the time. They are best friends. Last week I carried Roxy to the vet to be spayed and Ginger sat at the door most of the day waiting for her to come back..They have gotten along since day one when I brought Roxy home as a puppy.

I was wondering the same thing that Jontiff asked. Will spaying females help with this problem? I have two females that are fixed a pug & a Pomeranian, I am going tomorrow to pick up my boxer, I have the choice of a flashy brindle female (which I love the pictures), a plain fawn male & a plain brindle male. I was planning to get a male until I saw pictures of the flashy female! I really don't know what I am going to do now. I hope when I get to meet them in person that I will make the right choice.

It can help to some extent, especially if the bitch is spayed prior to maturity. So can being a very strong leader yourself that doesn't tolerate infighting for the number 2 spot. And also if there's a wide disparity in the relative dominance levels of the bitches - that is, having one very dominant and one very submissive is a better bet than two who're fairly evenly matched at any point in the scale (but which alas isn't really something you can predict when one of the bitches in question is just a baby). But all of these things are far from a guarantee. Just factors that reduce the risk a little bit.
