Feeding Marijuana to his dog!!

I need some immediate help on this guys, my boyfriends friend lets his dog eat marijuana. I told him to stop it, its not funny and he could seriously hurt the dog. He just said "relax, she just gets sleepy, besides its not bad for them" then he tried telling me that chocolate was ok for some dogs too! This guy is a total moron! I need to get as much info on the negative effects of feeding dogs pot as possible. If he doesn't listen to me I will call the SPCA because this just isnt right, the dog is still a puppy. ITS DRIVING ME INSANE! I have been researching all day and have only found a few pages. Anything helpful would be great. He is a nice guy but obviously very uneducated, immature and doesn't know much of anything about canine health.

i'm sorry but he's not a nice guy he's a jerk!!! its one thing to take that crap yourself but to give it to a puppy he needs mental help i'd take the puppy from him and he gets made i'd say fine we'll let the cops and aspca handle it,don't let him ruin this puppy ....he's not grown-up enough to have the honer of this dog in his life....

The threat of chocolate to dogs is well-documented. Your boyfriend's friend is uninformed. Also, on the ASPCA website, marijuana is listed as toxic to animals.

I think he is being incredibly juvenile, feeding pot to his dog. You might want to reconsider your relationship, after you insure the health of the puppy. (Oops, sorry I mis-read, it's not your BF, but his friend.)

I would definitely report this guy to the SPCA, animal control, the police...or all 3! He sounds like an absolute moron! If the authorities take the puppy away from him, maybe you can volunteer to adopt or foster it to ensure that it gets a good home. Good luck...let us know what happens with the situation.

Not only should he be reported to the ASPCA he should also be reported to the police!!! :mad: :mad: It's pretty clear that this guy has already smoked enough pot in his day to not realize that it's harmful to animals as well! :mad:

I decided not to chance it, if I try to talk to him I doubt he would listen. I can't stand the thought of that poor puppy having to live like that. I called the Humane Society and they are investigating him. My boyfriend is really mad at me because it is his friend but I figure, I would rather him mad at me and I have a clear conscience, than that pup getting terribly ill and I could have prevented it.

Anyways just wanted to let you know what I did so no one worried

I feel better and will sleep well tonight (it may be on the couch but I will sleep soundly)
