This happened at a distribution warehouse in Joliet, Illinois. But the products were distributed to many states...
"The distribution center in Joliet, Ill., provides pet food products and supplies to PETCO retail stores in 16 states including Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin"

Just FYI--please read the release if you shop at Petco.

Thank you for posting! I haven't been to PetCo in several weeks and I only buy treats there, not food, but it sounds like it could be any type of edible product. It's disturbing to think the conditions have existed for months though. Thank goodness none of my dogs have been sick!

I read an article on that earlier. I couldn't believe it. You would have thought such a big retail chain would be working hard to keep our animals food safe. I used to go to Petco now and then to buy things, I won't be doing that anymore. :(

I live in a really small town in Mississippi. It is the only place I can get Solid Gold. I dont know what I should do. Is Mississippi one of the 16 states?

No,it's not one of the 16. The original post contained a link to the article.

Wow I work at Petco and had no idea! Thank you so much for letting me know, I obviously shop there (discount on solid gold is hard to beat!) and live in Oklahoma (one of the states affected) and they sure wouldn't have told me. At least the bags weren't permeable.
