Enlarged ear- maybe allergies??

My sweet boxer is now 10 years old. Lately, her left ear is swelling and seems very thick. She shakes her head and scratches at it sometimes. I took her to the vet thinking she had an ear infection or ear mites. She didn’t have either. They think possibly allergies. I give her Benadryl, but her ear is still very swollen. Anyone else ever experience this?

Dante had really swollen ears. It was really early in the spring and we thought it was maybe caused by snow mold. Since it's not spring its probably not the cause of your babies swollen ears. Has the benedryl helped any? Could she have been bitten by a bee or something? I hope she is feeling better soon.
