This is so funny, my husband is thinking about getting an english bull dog. So how well do they get along with boxers??? I must admit i also think they are adorable. And bailey would really love someone to play with. Her only friend right now is a beagle that is 7, old, and wants nothing to do with her. She is just a bit too rambunctious for him!!!

When my sister was visiting with her English Bullie our Dane pup was very curious about her Bullie, Bailey. Our Boxers and Dane all get along. Our Dane Tundra is a big boy at eight months. His best friend is our white Boxer Lucky. I think it all depends on the dog,
the master and the socialization. We have a very bouncey Boxer Beau. Beau wiggles all the time, I sometime think if we attached a propeller to his tail he would take offf and fly.......Diana

Boxers Beau, Lucky, Penny (only girl)

Boxer Booster
Has anyone ever had a boxer and an English Bulldog? I need to do some reserch on the breed and they are very expensive so I will not be getting one for a while because I know how expensive the first year is.
Okay, here's my two cents....
We have a 2 1/2 year old English Bulldog, Maggie, and two Boxers. They get along great. My female Boxer, Molly, has had Maggie as a sister since she was 6 months old. They love each other to death!

I know I kind of got in on this post late but, if you need the name of a fabulous breeder, PM me and I'll give you the information. She will ship just about anywhere in the U.S. but will not ship during the summer months. She is great! She calls or emails me probaby once a year to see how things are going and make sure that Maggie is doing well. Last time I talked to her, her males were starting at $1400 and her females at $1900.

My only advice. Do some very serious research when picking out a breeder. Bulldogs are prone to health problems anyway and so you definitely don't want to end up with one from a bad breeder. As Msboop mentioned, allergies seem to be a problem with bulldogs more so than with some other breeds. They can get skin rashes from damn near anything. A lot of times though, it's because of something in their food. I feed my bully Diamond Dog Food and have not had any problems with skin rashes.

Also, as I'm sure you are aware, pure bred dogs are sometimes more likely to get stolen. I'm afraid this happens to be VERY true with Bulldogs (at least in our neck of the woods). Because they are so expensive, people will often times steal them and try to breed them for the money. Ours was actually stolen three months ago and we just got her back. It was a miracle. The person cut the lock on our gate (privacy fence too) took Maggie and let both my Boxers out loose. One got hit by a car and was hurt pretty badly. So, just beware. Not only will you be visiting the vet often, you will need to keep a close watch on your pricey little baby bully. Maggie is now only allowed out of the house with a chaperone (me or my husband). She still goes out in the back yard and plays but we are out there with her at all times.

Now, I can't say that Maggie is the brightest crayon in the box (you know we love you Maggie Moo!) but she is one of the best dogs I've ever owned. Bulldogs are great with kids and they do like to play. Maggie does get tired much quicker than my Boxers but she holds her own. Maggie is very very friendly and will do just about anything for a good belly rub. She snores like a freight train.

Also, as Msboop mentioned, allergies seem to be a problem with bulldogs more so than with some other breeds. They can get skin rashes from damn near anything. A lot of times though, it's because of something in their food. I feed my bully Diamond Dog Food and have not had any problems with skin rashes.

Sorry this was so long. If you need any more information, I would be glad to provide. Just PM me. I have done a ton of research on the breed. I would also be happy to give you the information for my bully breeder. Just let me know.
