Sending healing and positive vibes for your Barron. I hope you and your vet can pinpoint the reason for the high liver enzymes. Please keep us posted.

I specifically asked about Cushings and was told he does not have that.

That's great. Did he say when to check his levels again? I like the photo of Barron with the gray face. Both my boxers are gray. Dexter looks distinguished, Sophie looks beautiful. Of course I've gotten a little gray in the last 9 1/2 years, some of it from worrying about them!

I rescued my boxer Kodi last July. They thought he was about a year old (now about 1 1/2). We scheduled him to be neutered (his testicles never dropped) and through the pre-op blood test they found that his liver ATL level was over 600 (normal high end is 100). We have been treating him for over a year and now we are back where we started. They gave him several courses of antibiotics and the level over 7 months went down to normal. They thought the high value was due to hepatitis and they thought he was all better. Now it’s back up to 350 . He had had an ultra sound and bile acid test that didn't reveal much. Tomorrow we are going to a specialist for a biopsy. They are focused on some type of liver disease and haven't looked at anything else. He drinks alot and has diarrhea. I don't want to put him thorugh surgery if its not necessary. I am also at a loss of what to feed him. He was on the Royal Canice renal diet for a few months and would like him on something better.

dgabriel:
I wouldn't make any food changes without first checking with your vet, especially since there is a medical problem.
