Does anyone else have one of these? By far, the best vaccuum ever!! I bought the "Animal" of course, and thus thing is awesome!! Well worth the bones it cost me!! We have at the moment, 5 (count em') FIVE cats, two boxers, and 2 kids--3 if you count dh!! This thing will take paint off of the walls-literally!! It's so easy and everthing is on board! 17 feet of tubing so you can leave it at the bottom of the stairs and clean all the way to the top!! Our lifestyle was chewing through a vaccuum every year! Dyson guarantees it for two. Paid $50 for an extended warranty (4 yrs.) through Best Buy....if they can't fix it, they'll give you what you paid for it in credit towards the purchase of another or different vaccuum!
While they are expensive (not as costly as Electrolux or some others) so far, this thing has been worth every dime! The filter is lifetime, and to clean it you through it in the washer!!
Now check this out....as a smoker (I know, I know) I still hate the smell of smoke in the house. I had a couple in the office and then proceeded to vaccuum the crap out of this wall hanging-flower thing. By the time I was done, the room had been "de-smoked"! Strange--but true!!
The next time you are out and about and see one, check it out! I am so impressed! I meant to post about this a while back, but I've been so busy!! Now, I'm busy vaccuuming anything and everything!!
A couple more points:
It does both carpet and bare floors
The "Animal" has the three extra attachments, plus a spot and dry cleaning kit
(The yellow and purple are the same models, but for the extra $100 w/ the purple you get all of the extras. If you by them separately w/ the yellow, you'll spend the same.)
They have a 3rd model (costs more) I swear they have a V-8 engine in!!

***I highly recommend this to any of you on a new vaccuum hunt! Make it a Christmas present for yourself!

Happy Holidays!!

The best purchase I have made too. I bought the Dyson Animal back in September on ebay, matter of fact & saved $100. I certainly hope it lasts longer than other brands:)

I have had Dysons for the last 10 years. Im on my second one now. I would not get any other vacuum again.

I just registered for one for my wedding! I hope someone opens their heart and wallet and gets it for me!!

There has been another thread about how great the Animal version is. One member said that she used the Dyson just after using the old vacuum on her living room, and she had to empty the Dyson 4 TIMES while doing the living room again.

Is it heavy?? I have a bad back, and even vacuuming with my canister Electrolux makes my back hurt. My upright carpet shampooer is very heavy and really makes my back hurt!

It is fabulous. I just got one too and I love it. It actually makes the carpet fibers stand up springy like when they are new. I don't think it is heavy, to me, it's very easy to maneuver. Go try one at the store and see if you can handle it okay without pain. But I love it! And I really HATE vacuuming!

I HATE our vacuum cleaner and we have heard nothing but good things about Dyson's. Being two college students, we are going to have to hold off on that for now, but Mark graduates in May and he'll have some extra money so I may see if he will splurge. I've heard they last a long time and come with lots of guarantees!

We talked to a guy who works at Best Buy and says that he has a Boxer and the Dyson vaccums are proven to work best on animal hairs than any other vacuum cleaner out there - including the sticky, quill-like Boxer hairs! :)

I bought a new vacuum exactly 12 mos ago from Sears. It is a Kenmore and I spent what I considered a lot on it ($150 + 2 year service). The sales guy asked if I had pets and, at the time, I didn't. He felt this one would "meet my needs." I spotted the yellow Dyson and asked about it and remember thinking "Man, that vacuum is $$$." A month later, I adopted Tae. I sure as heck wish I needed a new vacuum NOW. I would definitely buy a Dyson!
