Duke's weight ?

I had Duke in on Monday for his shots and he weighed 18.5 pounds and is 16 weeks on Saturday. When I was reading the post of everybody's weight etc., most 4 month olds where double Duke's size ?

To me he seems like he's grown SO much and huge already. Does that seem really small for his age. He seems heavier than that too me too but I saw the scale !

The vet says he looks great but just wondering what the average weight is. Maybe he will be a smaller boy ?

I had Bruiser into the vets last week for his last set of shots at 17 weeks and he weighed 28 lbs. I really think they all grow at different rates, I'm sure your little guy will go through a growth spurt and if the vet says he looks great I wouldn't worry about it.

stringy or boxy?

When Apollo was 16 weeks, he was about 18 pounds. He is 2 now and weighs 53 pounds. He is a very tall lanky(but very muscular) guy. He free grazes (eats whenever he wants to) and runs like crazy! Now Rocky on the other hand, my husband weighed him when he hit 10 weeks, and he weighed 20 pounds. He isn't roly poly, and he looks like a 4 month old, at least. His mom weighed 65# and his dad 85#, so we figure he'll be huge. I know for certain that all pups are different, and grow differently. Just take the parents into consideration as to what he may grow to be like, and if you don't know(adoption, rescue,etc.) then just be pleasantly suprised! Have fun.

When we brought Boo home at 9 weeks, he was already 16 lbs. When he had his ears cropped at 10 weeks, he was 19 lbs. He is now almost 5 yrs young & 80+ lbs, very tall & muscular. All boxers are different. As long as he is healthy,eating good high quality kibble, I would not worry. Just have fun watching him grow into a beautiful healthy boy.
