I have finally mastered the art of double (and equal) petting! Gunner and Sammy are both so jealous, that when you try to pet one, the other has to try to get in between, so I am getting real good at double petting. Sammy is more jealous than Gunner however, and if you aren't getting her good enough, she will try and nibble your fleas off with that wierd front teeth nibble action on your arm or belly or whatever...lol. Used to be cute, but now kinda hurts. I knoooow you guys know what I mean.

I only have one Boxer, but the only time sabastian nibbles is when someone has him wound up and you say nibble, he doesn't like you to hide your face from him and will nibble on you cause he knows you'll give in. It's really funny when my hubby is laying face down on the floor and hiding his hands. Sabastian will nibble on his back and side till he sees his hands are visible and go after them. They play like this all the time. My hubby loves it till he starts nibbling to hard.:rolleyes: The kids let him do it to them but I stop that cause their skin isn't as tough as my husbands. Someday I'll get my second boxer and can learn the double petting! LOL....:)

niteworm - what is it with Boxers and hands. All the boxer & boxer mixes I've had LUV playing with hands. Goofy aren't they!

Yeah ...our boxer loves to do that "pincher nibble". They do seem to love hands. Our boxer will nibble at the sleeves of your long sleeve shirt all the time....

We will probably never be able to have more than two boxers because we only have two hands!! LOL!!:p

Omar is really bad about rooting his way in if you are petting Magnum. He will push Magnum out of the way.:rolleyes: He will also nudge you when he wants you to pet him.

I used to try and pet both my girls at the same time. But now, if I am petting one and the other tries to "horn in," I simply ignore the interloper and continue petting who I was petting. When the interloper stops trying to interfere and get all the attention and displays proper behavior, then I call her to me and give HER lots of pets and lovin'

It is working quite well. Susie now (she's the worst offender) just stands there, but doesn't try to crowd Maggie away from me anymore. And when I'm finished petting Maggie (or rather it is usually she who has had enough first), I then call Susie up to get her pets and lovin. I like this much better than trying to give equally to both girls at the same time. I'm not ambidextrous so the left-hand dog gets short shrift from me! :) :)

Haaaa that's so funny I thought mine were the only ones who nibbled on me it's only when I have long sleeved shirts on but it is so funny well until they get skin then it hurts:D As far as double petting I just get down on the ground with them and let them bean me to death then they get their equal petting time :rolleyes:

I once thought that I needed a hand per boxer. Then I started fostering. Once I had four dogs. Usually three. Well, I learned that if you move your hands really quick they are no more jealous than when you have one hand on each! So, I realized I could keep my last foster Desi!
And they would rather lick my face anyway and my face can fit three tongues. I have found out the messy way!!!
