My sweet baby boy has a brain tumor and is fading quickly. I will have to decide when it is time. I am not strong enough to do this. I am sobbing right now. He doesn't seem to be in pain. He does not see well. He hardly gets up. His little nub doesn't wiggle anymore. He just isn't there anymore. He doesn't cuddle with me. I just keep holding him and crying. I don't want to forget they way he feels, smells or the cute little sounds he makes when he sleeps. He is only 6yrs old. Im just lost.

I'm sorry for what you are going thru. I just lost my 5 1/2 yo to cancer. I understand completely. You have to do was best for your pup. It's a tough decision to make and you have to do what's right for your boy. We are blessed by these amazing animals for whatever amount of time that we have them. We'll pray for you both.

I can't imagine your pain. I think you'll know when the time is right. You don't want him to suffer or be all confused. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Hugs.

We all understand the pain and confusion that goes along with this decision. Personally it's one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make in my life and have had to do it more than once. Truly it is the last gift that you will be able to give to your boy. It is a chance to let him make his journey to the bridge without any more pain and suffering. No one can tell you when it's the right time but he will let you know that he is ready to go. I will be sending prayers your way to make the best decision for your sweet boy.

I am so sorry! I about cried when I dropped off Jake this morning for his neuter surgery, so I know that facing a final goodbye will be horrible (and yes I've had to do this with my previous boxer).

It is so hard to let them go, but it sounds as if your boy's life no longer has much quality. Be strong! You've done all you could for him and now it's time to let him go and start the healing process.

There's nothing pleasant about what you're experiencing. I lost my boy this past August to heart troubles and his condition near the end very much resembled what you have described with your boy. It wasn't easy. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't ache for him. But I will tell you that after I helped him make his journey to the bridge, I felt as though this huge weight lifted off of my shoulders because I didn't have to see him suffer anymore. I miss him terribly and I always will, but I certainly don't miss seeing him the way he was during his rapid decline. If I could go back, I would have ended his suffering weeks prior to when we made that fateful decision to let him go. Helping them to the bridge is the last loving act of kindness we can do for our babies who, in turn, bring so much joy to our lives. After we helped our sweet boy to the bridge, my husband and I received the nicest card from our vet who had suggested that if Buddy could talk, he would thank us for having the strength to end his suffering. I have all the confidence in the world that my vet is right. Hugs to you at this difficult time. A lot of us have been where you are and we can certainly sympathize. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
