Don't know whats wrong with my puppy!?!

I have a almost 6 month old male and I don't know what's wrong with him. He was fine until yesterday he threw up 4 or 5 times in the morning, didn't eat anything all day, constipated, was very lethargic and depressed looking, layed around all day and when he was laying down sometimes he would kind of shiver or shake, not bad just a little. Took him to the vet yesterday and got bloodwork ran and it came out perfect, and got x-rays done and everything looked good there too. This morning he went #2 a little and it looked like he might have swallowed strings from one of his rope toys, could this be the problem? Should I take him back in to the vet? The vet said if he was acting the same this morning I should bring him back in for some sort of dye testing. If he did swallow some rope strings will he pass it or will it have to be surgically removed? Or could this be something else? If anybody has any advice or knowledge please help! Thanks.

Honestly, to me, it sounds like he has a blockage in his intestines from swallowing something and yes this will kill him if you don't get it taken care of immediately. I am not trying to scare you but this is VERY VERY serious if he indeed did swallow part of a rope toy. Other posters have lost their dogs to it. Please please get him back in right away if you really think he's swallowed this, he will die if you don't. Seems liek it should have show up on x-ray but there is the possbility it wouldn't I suppose. Please get him looked at this morning right away. It will most likely need to be surgically removed. I wish you the best of luck, please let us know how he's doing.

I do know that when Herkie had a blockage he had an upset tummy, but then a few days later he became very depressed and lethargic.His blockage did show up on X-ray however.I would think if he's swallowed some string from a toy this could be the problem.Keep a very close eye on him...and yes definitely, if he's still acting like that today...take him back to the vet.All blockages don't show up on X-ray, and you don't want to let it go to long because it can also result in a bacteria infection.Surgery may be needed if he can't pass it, but boxers are troopers and recover fairly quickly.I am sending healing vibes and hope he feels better soon.Please keep us posted.

On my way to the vet right now to run a dye test, they'll have to keep him all day. Hoping for the best, will update and let everyone know. Thanks for the help.
