This is so funny--I had this very experience last night. DH was out of town, but the bed was still crowded. Buster hopped in bed, plastered himself against me pinning down the comforter so I couldn't move, rooted around until he had his head on a corner of my pillow, and in two seconds flat was asleep
and snoring gently in my ear.

I consider myself quite fortunate. Tae is only 40 lbs (full-grown). When I wake up in the middle of the night and discover I'm verging on falling out of bed, I pick her up and move her over. This morning, though, I was hot and she kept trying to snuggle up next to me. Normally, I love this, but today it was too much. I think the solution was to scoot closer to the edge of the bed and I slept there until the alarm went off!

I can definitely relate. If I try to get Deuce to move just a little bit, he looks at me like I should be lucky to be in bed at all and flops right back to sleep. I still couldn't kick him out of bed for anything -- I love my little snuggler.

here's hoping he's the medium size
So after having a female dog for 12 years, I say okay I want a boy! And we pick up Charlie. My first male dog in aeons and my first boxer. If my husband goes to hug me, Charlie is there! We have a king sized bed...and if it is just me and Charlie sleeping he'll curl near my feet or occassionally to the side but mostly at my feet, until the other man shows up then he must curl between us...not long ways but horizontally, I feel like I'm in charm school having someone measuring the distance between dancing partners. But, I wouldn't trade him for room on the bed or re-claiming his recliner back for us! It is so his chair to nap in and if you move out of it, you lose! He's in it! 60 pounds of dog and all I can say is thank goodness he's short and stock not long and lanky and pushy!

I had the same problem up until a few weeks ago. Tyson was taking up so much room on the bed neither myself or the old lady had an inch to move. We had an extra mattress laying around so I threw it down next to the bed for Tyson to sleep on. Now our bedroom looks like a hostil. I too wouldn't change a thing. We love to have tyson jump up in the morning now and snuggle with us. Lots of people thinks its gross to have your dog in bed, but they really are our kids.

I've grown very used to my couch. It's just much easier to let Cami stay sleeping in the bed, on my side then it is to try and move her. She is absolutly no help.....I scoot her and she ends up rolling over to the original spot. If I am not there before she wants to go to bed for get about it!!! Hubby doesn't seem to be effected by her at all.....he hits the bed and is totally out for the night, if she jumps up on top of him he doesn't even notice.
This thread cracked me up. Just last night, I went to bed later than usual, I normally try and get into bed before the dogs so at least I have some covers. But last night they were both curled up asleep, so I tried to get my postage stamp size bit of bed. Ohno, I am not even allowed that now, as my Boxer woke up rolled on his back and stretched across the whole of the bed. Why they can't sleep down the length of the bed rather than across I really don't know. I managed to squeeze in finally, but to my dismay, he decides to have a bad stomach and aims some really nasty smells my way.
