Doggy doorbell ??

Wasn't sure where to stick this, BUT I am wondering if they make such a thing ? And if so I need one and would LOVE to train my dogs to ring "their" doorbell rather than scratch and jump at the door everytime they want it.

Am I making these up or do they exist and if so where ? ! LOL

I have a cowbell hung on a ribbon tied to my door. There have been previous threats, if I recall many use jingle bells too.

The only problem is the pups abuse the bell!!! they ring for treats, ring for dinner, ring to out to play. But, i figure its better than an accident!

They used to sell one at Petco, I am not sure if they do anymore, but it was a little doggie pawprint you could train them to step on and it had a little remote that you clipped to your belt or whatever and it would ding or bark when they stepped on the "doorbell". Kind of like a baby monitor...

We use a bell that is supposed to be used in a canary cage. It's hung on the door knob. Rocco hits it with his nose when he wants to go out. Dino hasn't figured it out yet, but he's only 16 mos old. But when he hears the bell, he goes crazy - like deranged monkey!! He knows he gets to go out and play. We have been lucky that Rocco only uses it when he wants to go out. I know some people whose dog rings it off and on all thru the night - while they're sleeping - or should I say, trying to sleep.

And only to come back in. Duke sits or does a quick little paw up if he needs/wants out, bu I'll let them out to play and no matter what he always jumps and scratches to get back in. Just not sure I would hear a bell w/ the doors closed in Winter time, but maybe ?!

We use the cowbell for Cassius to go outside, and once summer comes, will be using a wireless doorbell for him to ring to come inside rather then jumping at our door. We took a wireless doorbell and mounted it on some wood. We then covered the doorbell with a larger lighter piece of wood for Cassius to put his paw on. Our problem was Cassius would have to jump at the door for us to open it and then we would have him step on the doorbell. I then realized that I was treating him for stepping on the bell AFTER I had already opened the door when he jumped at it. Any suggestions on how to get him to ring the bell BEFORE jumping at the door?

There are wireless doorbells. I am sure if you went to Lowe's or Home Depot you would find them. Bayleigh rings the bells to go out. We are considering a wireless doorbell for this spring. She destroyed our screen door and we just replaced it.

Thanks everyone Wireless Doorbell it is. My husband is going to be thrilled ! He's NOT impressed w/ the scratches all over the doors ! :(
