Roxy doesn't woo-woo :( She only really makes any sound like that when she stretches from getting up from a nap. She's only 8 mos old-is this something that they start to do when they get older?

YES! Bongo does this all the time, and we call him a wookie. He will talk to us, to his toys, to the cat, and to leaves blowing by outside :p

I was trying to figure out if all this noise is his way of doing the woo-woo song. But I've never actually heard anything that sounds like "woo". Sigh.

Sammi is very vocal, always has been! We love it. We've actually been able to make adjustments to it. Sometimes she gets so frustrated (or excited) that she'll throw in a few barks. When that happens, I tell her "NO BARKING" and then the woo-woos kick into high gear. Or I tell her to sing and it goes from the normal woo-woo to a song, long and drawn out. She's a riot to be around!:D

Yep, Lou definitely talks to me. He'll start out by sitting and leaning back so his squishy face gets squisher. Then, he moves on to the loud sigh.... followed by a yawn/high pitched whine... then moves on to the babbling... he curls his lips around his teeth and starts in on the rambling. Sounds a lot like Chewy... I call it his chewy talk. Usually when he's bored, or feels like wrestling. Oh, and he'll emphasize his words by putting a paw on my leg just to get his point across. What a ding dong... !! Sure do love him though the little brat!

Count Hammer in as a Wookie!! He talks all the time, to me, his dad, the other boxers and even the cats! My husband wants to send a recording to George Lucas to see if he can tell the difference between Hammer and Chewbacca! :p I keep telling him we're not special and that other boxers do this, but I just can't get him on Boxerworld often enough!

Copper has an entire boxer vocabulary. I've never heard another animal make as many distinct sounds as he does.

He's very chatty, and like others have said about their babies, it sometimes sounds as if he's grumbling or telling us off LOL :)
I love it though.

My two girls aren't near as chatty, mind you the pup is just 10 weeks. Belle is chatty when she wants attention or a taste of whatever I'm eating at the time, but is otherwise a very quiet girl.

No, Scrapper cannot speak English, but he communicates better than many people I've met. There is no way you do not know exactly what he wants when he makes his plethora of noises at various times and places. There are "mfffs" "woofs" "ehs" "mmnnnns" (roughly translated), barks of varying loudnesses and lengths and of course, the "wooWOOooo-wooOOO." Oh, he also has this thing he does with his front paw, kind of nudging you with it to get your attention. We all laugh because he is so clear in making his wants and desires known. :)
