Dog stain help

Hemi and Deisel always seem to be drooling, tracking muddy paws around, and smushing food into my nice cream color carpet in my big open living room, so all the stains are very evident.

Anyway, my parents are taking them while we go to Hong Kong for a week, but I'm going to drop the dogs with them the weekend before we leave. I want to take the opportunity to really clean my carpets. I use the simple solutions stain and odor remover, but I'm talking i want to rent a machine, move all the furniture and go to town.

I know we can get rug doctors from home depot, does anybody have any other recommendations?

Also What cleaning solution to use???? I'm new to the house thing and having to clean carpets, so help

Dont Rent a cleaner go buy one. By time you rent one and send it back your going to want to clean the carpet more often. Thats what i did. I rented and rented. Spent the money that could cost for the cleaner. I bought a hoover. I love there cleaning solution. They also have for pet and order. Bissal has good solution also. Thats what i use. Love them both. Get a cleaner that the brushes go in circle not just back and frouth. Cleans better.

I used to rent them too and ended up buying a bissell. I love having my own. The other option if you really want to have a nice job done & don't want to do it yourself is to call Stanley Steamer or something like that and have it done. They do a really nice job & I just had them do my house (3 bedrooms, hallway, big living room & walk in closet area) for about $168.00 and that included the pet cleaner & deodorizer. It dried quick too when they did it. Plus, they move all the furniture

I also recommend buying a carpet cleaner. I got the small one by Bissell. It works great. I run it in between fosters. Clean Slate theory! I also rent one once a year for a deep down clean.
What I have found that works well and is relatively cheap is:
1. for pet accidents (vomit, urine, and feces) is just to spray a 75/25 solution of white vinegar and water. Dirt cheap and effective!
2. for the "in-between fosters" cleaning, I use oxy clean powder mixed with water in my machine. It will take any stain out and leave everything smelling great!
3. for the industrial, "once a year" cleaning, I use the bissell orange scent one. I like to do this in the early summer, makes my house smell like an orchard! :D

Definatly dont rent a rug doctor, we did that from Jewel by us and it took us 4 hours to do one room,this is because it only has a 2 galloon resevior(sp?)

it would have been easier and cheaper also less aggravation to get a professional to come in and do it.

I would also recommend buying one or hiring somebody to do it. In our old house we had beige carpet and owned a Bissell....it worked really well but there were still some spots that wouldnt budge. We hired Service Master to do the whole house...it was a little over one hundred dollars for the whole house. When we came back the carpet looked brand new!!

I have a Bissel and I have got my money's worth out of it. I don't use the cleaner they recommend, though. I have always used Simple Green and it works wonderfully. -Jan

I bought a carpet cleaner at walmart when I first got Doja, and I only paid about $100 for it. They have pet cleaner for that machine... I think its a bissel

I bought a Bissel during TUGs house training days. I then had Stanley Steamer come and do a professional job after she caught on to not pee in the house. Now I use the Bissell when I want to do some touch up jobs. I should have bought one years ago! I love it.
Be careful what kinds of cleaner you use on the carpet. Some will leave a residue in the carpet and actually make your carpet dirtier than it originally was to begin with. The dirt will just cling to it.
