Sorry everyone I ran a search and I also have NO IDEA where to put this.
We have hardwood floors and our house is kind of small. We also have hardwood floors. Since we are used to it I guess, we dont smell it. But when my parents come over the first thing they notice is the "dog" smell.
My dogs are house trained, so it is not those kind of smells. We also give them a batch once a week.

Does anyone have any advice on how to cut down the dog smell in the house? We do candles and such but it is always there. Or maybe there is not getting rid of it?

My none dog loving parents always comment on how surprised they are that our house has no doggie smell. I don't do anything special, Sandy just has never had that problem. Perhaps it's the food. What do you feed?

I agree on the food possibly being a cause to the odor. My house is small also and I don't do anything special but we don't have any odor other than sometimes when you walk in, the litter box smell. I can't stand the litter box smell at all and to make things worse, my computer room is a room that the previous people shut their cats into and they peed in the corners. I have tried everything but when I walk into that room, that is all I smell, it isn't very strong but strong enough for me to smell.

I am also a candle freak, I just always love to have a candle burning. I also have the candle warmers spread throughout the house turned on all the time.

I wash the bedding weekly and wipe them down (the dogs) with baby wipes/pet wipes also. It's actually their slobber from when they clean themselves that causes most of the smells. My friends say they're amazed my house doesn't smell doggy and believe me one of them would take great delight in telling me if it did smell.

Funny. I never thought our house smelt either. Our friends always come over and comment how they are surprised it doesn't stink with 2 dogs! Then we put our house up for sale. A few people said that our house absolutely stinks of dog! I wash the bedding every 2 weeks. I also do a toy check and see which ones need washing! Our realtor suggested to use the pet powder on our carpets and febreeze the stuff you can't wash (couch). Most of our place is hardwood. So I tink most of the smell is in the carpet and upholstery.

Guess some people's noses are just more sensitive to it.

Harley was a drooler and I found that is what leaves the smell I wash their bedding every few days and wash the floors with oxyclean wipe their faces down too.

They also make 'paw wipes' and 'Tushie wipes'

Whatever next?

I agree it's the slobber that causes most of the smells - but I don't think my house smells - and I try and wash the bedding every week too

My cat started marking Rosco's blanket. After many washes, you could still smell it no matter what products I used. I sprayed a product called Zero Odor as a last resort. It worked!! If it can take the smell of cat urine out of Rosco's favorite blanket, I think it can get rid of any bad smell. I now use Zero Odor on the couches, bedding, carpet, etc. It's the best thing in the world!! I purchased it online, not sure what stores may carry it.
