Glad to know I'm not crazy!

Ok, well, maybe we are just ALL crazy!! We had a full size bed for the longest time - with me my hubby and two boxers!! It was quite a squeeze. Now we have a queen, but I broke the news to hubby that I want another boxer baby - in a year or so. That gives us enough time to buy a king!! :p I always start mine out in the bed for potty training purposes - when they wake up and whine, I just pick them up and carry them out - which can be pretty often when they are tiny. Somehow they both ended up staying there. Lexy sleeps at the foot of the bed, unless she gets hot. Bailey sleeps ON me - my legs, across my whole body - just where ever (insecure resuce doggie habit). The crazy thing about her is that she MUST have her head elevated or she won't sleep - pillow, leg, belly, arm - doesn't matter - just gotta have her head propped up on something. They wake up at the same time every morning, but will go right back to bed on sleepy days after a potty break. When we sleep in, both girls will stretch out next to us - between us with their faces on ours for kisses - and snug really good all morning! I just love their smell, their warmth, the heaviness of them sleeping on me. When I travel, I have to pile on the pillows so I can sleep!!

When Rocky was the only fur baby in the house, he slept in the bed with us. But when we got Maxxie, I was told "No more dogs in the bed". We do have a king size bed, but I have to admit that we didn't sleep very well with the 2 of them in the bed. I do miss cuddling with them all night. Boxers are the PERFECT cuddlers!!! :p So once in a while, when he goes out of town, or when I take a nap on week-end, I sneak them in the bed. :)

Sammi starts out on the floor (on top of 2 nice thick(expensive) comforters (that my husband says "WE don't need anymore, so let her lay on them") but, like clockwork, wakes me up to make room for her on the bed at 4:00am, everyday. We then wake up at 6:00am. I'm thinking of throwing out the alarm clock...haven't used it in months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Roxi is my baby, of course she sleeps with me, My husband works nights and all I have to do is say "momma is going to bed' ans she is ready. She has to sleep under the covers, she is so funny!!
This is our second boxer, Lady is at the bridge, but Roxanne has such a different personality, much more needy and dependent.

I have to say that Aus doesn't sleep with us-we sleep with him! He thinks he owns our bed. He picks his spot, spreads out, and if one of us so much as moves and "disturbs" him, he growls at us!

I can totally understand where youre coming from!! Sysco plops his butt down & you cannot move him....& I mean, THERE IS NO MOVING THAT BOY...he weighs as much as I do almost and with his weight on top of his loud snoring...he's dead to the world...we dont mind though....he is a very good foot warmer:D

Sleeping in bed!!

I have to admit, that all 3 sleep with me on a queen size bed!!! I sometimes wonder if I could possible find a smaller area to sleep in. Their daddy sleeps in the other room on the king all by himself, because I like the mattress on the queen much better, sometimes, I try to get away with only sleeping with one by closing the door and trying to keep the others out, but at some time during the night you will hear some whining outside the door and have to get up and let them in. You are really lucky if you get to bed first!!! It is a comfort to have something all warm and cuddly with you to help you sleep though.

New guy to the board

I am brand new to this board and am enjoying seeing that all boxers are so much like mine. George sleeps in bed with us and our two other weiner dogs. He sleeps with his head on the pillow or completely under the covers by our feet. He is our new little boy and we are new to the boxer breed but will never be without one.

WEll.....yes and no!

HEHE!!
Our 1 yo deaf boxer boy Jackson does sleep with us and because he is now 74 lbs I got a king size bed for my birthday. Yahoo!!

Dixie and Beau are crated at night. The reasoning behind this is that Jackson is crated during the day while I work while Dixie and Beau are out either in the bedroom or kitchen. Maybe when Jackson can stay out during the day without eating the kitchen chairs then he will be crated at night and we can get a good nights rest....nah!!
