Does Your Boxer Head Butt???

My little Ozzy (7 wks old) started head butting a cushion on the floor the other night. He is our first boxer and though I have read about many of their traits, I did not find this one in my research. We have owned other breeds of dogs and have never seen this behaviour. It was so funny we could not stop laughing. Is this common? If it is I am not complaining, I could use a good laugh now and then. He has only been with us for a week and we love him to bits. He is soooo quirky and so sweet.

Prince will be 11 weeks on monday and he does it once in a while as well but he's more prone to doing it to our legs or feel when we're sitting down and it is absolutely husterical :D We have a boxer that lives next door to us that's 8 months old and she's pretty bad about jumping up and head budding people righ on the forhead. She got me and my husband within 10 min. I'm sure it's funny to watch but not so funny when you're on the receiving end of a 50lb boxer running into your face with her head....no wait...i lied it is just as funny after the pain goes away

princess head-butted me a couple times in the face and gave me a nice busted fat lip! but i couldnt stay mad at her for doing it!

Oh yeah Hank "head butt's" me when he wants under the covers at night!

Fletcher doesn't do this but I would love to see it. It sounds really cute.

Our Boxer we have now doesn't head butt. However I used to have a GS that would make you bend over to pet him. He would sniff me then as soon as I turned my head he would head butt me and knock me down and then ignore me the rest of the day.:rolleyes: The only time he did it was when I "cheated" on him by petting another dog, and so he smelled the other's scent on me. It was funny at the time, not so funny being ignored by him.

Blizzy was the headbutt Queen, I had more bumps and lumps on my face and head from her slamming her head into mine, and Carson and Echo have seemed to take up the trait! GRRR. But they never head butt each other.

My Bubbie Roo has never did this. After reading the posts I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing! ! But it does sound really cute!

Okay so maybe not cute when your being headbutted but cute if he was headbutting the cushion!!!
