I would like to know how many members of Boxerworld have Boxers with tails, and why. I've never seen a Boxer with a tail, face-to-face. Only pictures.
I would love to see some more pictures of a Boxer with a tail, and I'd love to see your gallery!!! I know there is a lot of discussion on docking/not docking. I just wondered if your Boxer is docked or natural, and maybe why he/she is that way (if the breeder did it that way, or if you requested the breeder do it that way).

I have a 100% natural boxer, tail and all. I got her from the SPCA when she was jsut over a year old. I have to admit that had I arranged to get a puppy from a breeder, I would have wanted the tail docked, but since she came with the tail, I love her tail and all! I have just started showing agility through AKC (I got her an ILP number). YOu would not imagine the looks and comments I get about the boxer with the tail. It is good to be different. I have a feeling we are going to be remembered from show to show, like "oh there is that boxer with the tail!".

I agree. The number of people who come up to us and mention Jazz's tail and say how they've never seen a Boxer with a tail and how much they like the look. We rehomed her at 12 months so we didn't have a choice but we wouldn't have her any other way :)

Thanks everyone who took the survey!!

Thanks Stacy W. & Jazz461 - do you guys have any pictures to upload that show your baby with her tail? I'd *love* to see them!! :o)

My girl was a rescue & her tail is docked (as most are!). If I had the choice, I'd probably leave the tail natural. I've only see one picture of a Boxer w/ tail and it curled up nicely over his back. I found it here on Boxerworld but have no idea who the user was. Thanks again for your thoughts.

I had a foster boy with a tail. He also still had his dew claws and was still intact when he came into rescue. He was very handsome, and very happy-- and boy did his long tail show that! He was always whapping my boxer girl in the face with it- she never knew what hit her! It also made quite a racket thumping against the wall when he came to wake me up in the morning. When he'd curl up to go to sleep, his tail would curl right around him and he looked all tucked in and ready to snooze. He has been adopted, so I won't upload pictures, but after the first day of having him we just got used to his tail and pretty much forgot about it (except in the a.m. when the sound of it woke us up! :)

I don't have a boxer with a tail, but if I ever have another one in the future, it probably will have. LOL - I'm anticipating a good few years yet with Henri, of course, but also that bans on surgical alterations will become increasingly widespread.

Once you get used to seeing them with tails, it's actually the docked dogs that start to look strange ;)

My boxers all have docked tails, but I did own a great dane with a natural tail. Man, that tail could knock everything off of tables. I was a child back then and I still remember it whipping me in the face. Tunsie used to get so excited!!

Jazz & her tail are so cute!! I love the white tip! :)

There are a lot of people in the U.S. who are extremely for tail docking. I've even seen foreign websites (can I post 'em?) that advocate tail docking and ear cropping. They show all sorts of pictures with poor Boxers & their tails cut or hurt. Is that the only reason for docking?

Either way though, Boxers are beautiful all the same. I like them with a natural tail or sans tail. If I had the chance to say how I wanted it though, I wouldn't have the tail docked.

I'm glad Oscar's tail is docked. He would have a dangerous weapon if it weren't. That nub gets going so fast it would do some damage if there were a full tail.
