Completely Boxer Crazy
I have a rescued Greta also! She has a full tail and natural ears and we love everything about her. I think there are a couple pics in my gallery where her tail is visable.

My dogs came to me docked and dewclaws removed...until my recent foster additions. Kelly (the mother) is docked/dewclaws removed, natural ears.....and her 2 pups (who are 100% Boxer) are natural - ears, tails, dewclaws. It is odd to see the little wagging tails, but I would NOT consider removing them (like one potential adopter wanted......that was an instant "I don't think this is the dog for you" decision for me).
The tails are as unique as the personality wagging it. Docked is what I am used to, but I wouldn't turn away a natural tailed one because of the (ouch) leg bruises I would get.

My son read a book on Boxers that explained that dogs communicate with their tails. He felt that it was important to let Reba keep her tail. We picked her out when she was a day old and our breeder kept her natural all over. Tail, dew claw, and ears.

My girls tail is docked. She came from the breeder like that. But I did have a dobe that I didnt have the tail docked. They have simular tails. I always new when he was around wall banging, things flying off the tables. I must say though I did catch the tip of his tail in the car door once (oh I felt so bad) It didnt' break open but boy did he let out a yelp. I also stepped on it a few times when I wasn't looking where I was going.
I have had boxers for years now and all their tails were docked. They have more butt wiggle in my opinion when their tails are done instead of the side to side action.
I like them both ways and wouldn't of changed any of my dogs.

I don't think it is illegal in the Uk to have their tails docked as Lola (17 weeks) is docked.
The breeder we got her from shows boxers and said there is a lobby of people trying to make it banned but it isn't enforced yet. I don't know how true that is but to me personally a boxer has a docked tail, I like the floppy ears but don't know about a long tailed boxer, I've never seen one?
I love the way her bum wiggles without one and surely it's the same as us having the umbilical cord off right down to skin level instead of having a good couple of inches left hanging???
Personal preference me thinks, until it's banned anyway.

Maxwell is docked. I am glad he is cause I like the look and don't like being hit by a tail. It is one less thing for him to get stuck and hurt. However, I would take him any ol way. He is the light of my life.

I would have left his tail had I chosen the breeder prior to the pups being born.
Henry has 2 boxer friends who have natural tails they look great and boy can they do some damage! - clear all tables at butt height.
I personally hate the thought of cosmetically altering dogs. IMO leave them the way they were born to be. However, I can see the reason for dew claws being removed. A Lab I had years ago ripped one of his dew claws whilst on a walk. By the time we got home he had lost quite a lot of blood and ended up having to have it removed anyway.
I hope in the future, the USA follows Europe in the banning of cropping and docking.

Be careful what you wish for. Banning cropping and docking is a big step down the slippery slope of the AR agenda. The ultimate goal of these groups in the US is to end pet ownership altogether - you won't have to worry about whether you can crop or dock a dog, because you won't even be able to have a dog.
I hope for, and will fight for, the right of pet owners to make informed decisions, in conjunction with their veterinarians, about their animals' medical care.
