I should have voted most of the time... here's the break doen:

Oscar = 99%
Mollie Mae = 80%
Eeyore = 80%

For the most part they come when called...

Now, if I do this whistle thing that I do, they always come...it depends if they can hear it or not, I guess.

My oldest baby comes when she's called without fail. So, in my ignorance, I had high hopes that my newest baby would just fall right in step. Well, did I have another thing coming. That doggie is a fruit loop. Sometimes she will run the other way, sometimes she'll just leap in circles, sometimes she'll do that little "front paws down, butt up" attack mode thing all our boxer babies seem to do . . . then she's after a butterfly or some invisible creature. She never runs away, just everywhere but straight to me. Whew. Wish I had the energy!!:p

Well my two little evilicon come purely when it is convenient to them.

If they are sitting in front of the fire or on the couch and I call them................forget it, they are too comfortable to make the effort!!

Baxter gets very clingy on certain days and won't leave my side and if he knows we are going out...............pure Angel!!!angelicon I could say stand on your head and he would willingly oblige.

Now if we are outdoors (going for a walk to the park etc) FORGET IT! Baxter switches off from me completely. He is so focussed on other people, dogs etc that it is like I do not even exist!!.

Boxers............you gotta love them! Extremely smart dogs.............that is the problem.

The best way to get Tobee to come to me, is to call Jake. He'll usually come, because he has to know what Jake is getting, that he is not. And Tobee will just about always go to Scott, if Scott is calling him.
I wish we had a more reliable recall for both boys. I would not trust them off leash at the park. There are too many other interesting things there then me. They both did very good though at the dog park in Tampa. They both always came, when I called them. Go figure :rolleyes:
Treats always work though:D

Two will always "come", sometimes just by saying "come", sometimes by pointing at our feet and sometimes he needs to hear AND see the signal. You didn't ask how long it takes him to come though, sometimes if he doesn't want to come he will take forever and a day to get there!

I'm glad to know my boxer isn't the only one with selective hearing. If he knows I'm mad, he figures there's no way he's coming to me to get in trouble. If I have a snack, or if I want to take a nap with him, he'll come right away. evilicon

How great this website is!!!!!!! We have a new boxer that is eight weeks old. We have a great fenced in yard for him to run in. but only if you run beside him. He can sit, lay down stay (even while I leave the room) ...............but come? Yeah right!:cool: when he is good and ready. I know he's young and we are working on this but.................:rolleyes: the annoyance when your child and puppy totally ignore you!
