Does your Boxer come when called?

My Ruby comes whenever I call her. She's been that way since she was a pup...Just loves to be near her Mommy. :D

Olli comes every time he is called while in the house but outside he comes only if he wants to.

Pénéloppe comes about 7 times on ten. That's not too bad, she's only nine months! That's with a lot of training! And when I have a cookie, she almost always come.

They are each different!

Nala comes every time, because she is afraid she will miss something. (Especially kisses)

Meta comes everytime IF I say "dad, call Meta".

Rigo comes if he wants to and runs the other way if he wants to. We will call it youth, but we will see!

Boomer's getting better about coming when called. I'm sure there's a bit of youth, stubbornness, and selective hearing involved as well.

Well, I had the ultimate test of whether or not Ruby would come when called. The other night I took her for her walk (although we drove because it was raining pretty hard). She got out of the car at our usual spot. I didn't put her leash on because in the rain she usually just runs to do her thing and then gets back in the car. Well, she got out of the car, and noticed something across the road. I didn't see what it was until a second later when she was running towards it. It was a bear! I was yelling at her to stop, yelling no, telling her to stay. She was running right up to the bear, I'm freaking, thinking that she's going to start jumping on it. Then all of a sudden she stops dead in her tracks and stays. I got to her and put the leash on. Man how lucky was she. The bear ran away, we went the other way, she did her thing and home we went. So I guess Ruby can be counted on sometimes to come when she's called. She didn't exactly come, but she did stay! :eek:

The only time Maximus wont come when called is when he escapes out the front door the only way for me to catch him is to open my car door and tell him to load up Hell listen if he thinks were gong somewhere. I have to close the car door and run for his leash!!!

My guys will come when called but it also depends on the circumstance ad their as to how quickly they come. If the moon is not in the right position, they (my Darcy especially) will take the longest route and walk very slowly to get to me.
