You sure would think they would take better pics!!!
I think he looks like a reverse brindle also. Cisco's nose is just as long as his!

Shelter pics

I take photos at a county animal shelter for Petfinder, and sometimes they are not as good as I would prefer. Often there is no one available to help the person taking photos, as county shelters are short-staffed and overcrowded with animals. There is a lot of work for very few people to do, most of whom have full-time jobs and little time to spend at the shelter during the available times. If there is no second person to help, unfortunately, taking a photo of a dog behind the cage is often the best that can be done. Sometimes you can get in the cage with the dog and get a better shot, but usually not, as the dog is all over you. LOL Fortunately, there are some days when it is possible to get photos of the dogs in natural light, with no cage obstructing the view of the dog, and even posing nicely. Those are the good days!

So, many photos that are of inferior quality do go on Petfinder, but I believe this is better than no photo at all, which is sometimes the only other option. At least maybe someone looking for a pet might get an idea, and can always visit the shelter and see the animal for him/herself to get a better look. We also are not breed experts; we are just community volunteers who care about animals and do the best we can to identify them. If you see dog that you believe is mis-identified as to breed, I believe most shelters would welcome your help in making the correction, since correct breed identificaton can be helpful in getting animals adopted. It's also likely that most of the shelters you see that have lower quality photos of pets on Petfinder would gladly welcome additional volunteers to help with photography, breed identification, Petfinder listings, temperament testing, and so on.
