just wondering, if the rumor is true that it is now illegal to dock boxers tail in australia. It wasnt 12 months ago when i got my baby(kellie)(the breeders did it- not me)
when we went back to c the breeders they told us it has changed now

The only state or territory in Australia that has banned tail docking is the ACT.
The other states may well be looking into doing the same but as of this time I beleive that it is just the ACT that has banned docking of tails.

I must say I'm surprised that your breeder doesn't know the regulations.

We had puppies in December and live it the ACT. In the ACT it is illegal to tail dock so we had their tails docked in NSW. Most vets we spoke to were against docking - even though the law permits it - and tried to talk us out of it.

IT IS STILL LEGAL TO DOCK IN QLD!!!

Well......after double checking with the Queensland Canine Control Council they have informed me that you can still have tails docked in the state of Queensland. They did say that it looked like it would be banned at some time in the future but that it is still legal to dock tails at the moment.
