Spike is now seven months and he has yet barked...he will yelp if he wants something really really bad. To go outside to do his thing he will sit at the door and whine. Is this normal? It is WONDERFUL...BUT will it last???? :p

Barking doesn't seem to be too common in my house either. Ginger is a lot more quiet than Hammer, but that could be because she's new to the house. She only barks when she hears a noise outside and generally it's just one bark (warning?). Hammer's a lot more quiet now that Ginger's here, but he still barks a few times per day, usually only when playing rough with daddy or when we leave.

Their usual noise is a whimper or the woo woo song. Neither makes a sound when they need to go outside, they just go to the door. We are trying to teach them to ring the bell for those times we don't see them at the door.

The two of mine don't know what it is NOT TO BARK......they do it CONSTANTLY and usually when you really don't need/want them to. Like at 4:30 in the morning when they decide it is a good time to get up and play

Lexi barks at Duchess when she wants to play. In fact, once she starts...she doesn't stop. It's like a broken record and the only way to get her to stop is to wait it out. LOL

BooBoo didn't bark at all when he was younger too... but now that he's a year and a half...he's been barking more, but only when the door bell rings and he isn't sure who is on the other side. Otherwise it's more play barking when he wants another dog to play with him...

Mickey barks at Sammy and anyone at the door (even those who live here until he realizes who they are) and the only way to get him to stop is to threaten to get the spoon (wooden spoon brandished when necessary) or thank him if it's someone at the door. Just last night he also decided that it's required that he bark when the phone rings! But outside, rarely a peep out of him. He, also, does that little "hurumph" noise when we encounter strangers. Not really a bark, just a warning that they better stay away until he's ready to sniff them! ;)

Brogan only used to bark when she was playing with another pup. I have noticed lately that she is starting to bark a lot more though. She is 8 months now and I think her guard dog instincts are starting to come out. When she hears someone outside now when she's in the yard she will bark. When she wants something she cries and wimpers

Boxer Buddy
My boxer never barked, when people would ring the bell she would run to the door and just stand there alert. She would make a sneezing sound with her nose, but never an actual bark.

The only time should would actually attempt to bark is when I barked at her...:p ..crazy girl...:D

Baci doesn't bark much, he's more of a whiner. He whines when he wants his food or your food, when he wants attention, and sometimes he whines for no reason at all.
