The other night Riley woke me up for an emergency potty run at 2:30am. Usually he just goes and comes right back in and back to bed, so I don't bother with a leash. This particular night he decided he didn't want to come inside, he wanted to explore nightlife. It took me close to half an hour running around to catch him. At some point I cut my foot on a rock and told him I was gonna lock him in his crate forever, so as I am bringing him inside he goes straight to his crate instead of the bedroom. When I go to look for him he is laying there anxious, kind of like "I know I deserve it... but how long is forever?"

Zuzu TELLS on Duke all the time. I would hate having her for a sister, for sure. I can be on the other side of the house from the dogs and all of a sudden Zuzu appears at my side and just stands there, staring in the direction from whence she came. I now know that the purpose of the stare is to direct me to the scene of the crime. Duke is always disappointed that he is busted, and if I turn around after I catch him, there's Zuzu, nubby wagging away as if to say, "Did I do a good thing, Mom?" My mother insists that Zuzu just sets Duke up because she wants to get rid of him. LOL

Cali knows. When she's done something bad, her ears get flat and she follows me around like a shadow. Sure signs that she got into something that she wasn't supposed to. But her face is so cute I can't get mad.
