Do You Think It's Just The Excitement!?

The other day my neighbor came over. Cherokee knows her and always gets excited when she comes by. This time was different though as my neighbor petted her and she squirmed on the floor in pure excitement she peed on herself. I brushed it off thinking maybe she was just very excited. Then yesterday the same neighbor and the same thing happened. Should I be concerned or is it just the excitement? Has this happened to anyone?

This used to happen when I had a Cocker Spaniel, a breed that is known for excitement incontinence, especially females. I haven't experienced it with a Boxer. Hope you get an answer to help you.

Thank you I hope so too. I'll probably call her vet. It hasn't happened again. She gets excited with everyone but both time sit happened was with my neighbor other than that she's fine. Now could it be that both times she had just woken up from a nap and maybe didn't want to go potty because she was too excited about the company. She's potty trained.

Sophia did this when little

Beatriz,

Sophia did this with my dad when we brought her home in 1986. He was the only one in the family who she'd get that excited about. Don't think Dani ever did this, but can't really remember.

Probably just a phase Cherokee's going through.

Cheers,

Hi there again,
I've never had this problem with Monty, but his predeccesor Owain was a very submissive dog. We had to try not to get too cross with him in the house as he would roll on his back and squirt urine every where. Again if people were too fussy with him he would do the same. Perhaps Cherokee is just getting too excited and can't help herself. She's still only young so I'm sure thiswill sort itself out.

I noticed that your Cherokee's birthday is 2-9-01, my Riley was born on 2-7-01 so they are really close in age (two days apart). Riley kind of does the same thing, we have this friend that she goes nuts over when he comes to visit. She always get so excited when he comes that he is now dubbed Riley's "boyfriend" She hasn't peed or anything yet but she comes close. I think it is just a puppy thing.

My neighbors boxer (Rocky's brother) use to do that everytime I saw him. I would have to be careful or he'd pee on me. But it stopped when he was about a year old. He hasn't peed on me in a long time (he's 2 now). He still gets very excited to see me though!

Hey Tyson was born on 02/08/01, how neat. He is in the middle. :) Tyson has gotten so excited that he has peed. There is a guy we met who has a boxer also, everytime Tyson sees him, he pees! We ran into him once and he had leather chaps on (he owns a harley) and Ty peed all over them. But the guy didn't care. He likes Tyson so much it doesn't matter.
