do they all lick????

Nikki's 10 weeks old, female boxer cross with all the characteristics of a boxer and this is my first time owning a boxer. I've noticed she likes to lick EVERYTHING, is this normal?

The reason I ask is b/c we have a 2 yr old female doberman/ australian cattle dog and she will ONLY lick your hands if she feels like it, but Nikki is the oppossite.
Is there anything I can do to decrease the licking?

I can speak only for myself, but Lexi licks EVERYTHING. The dishwasher, the washing machine, the dryer, the sofa, chairs, you name it, she licks it.

I never thought much about it, because our 10 y/o mix breed baby also is a licker. I just figure Lexi learned it from her.

The only thing that worries me is that hopefully my skin kids won't pick it up.

Well Ozzy licks the air and anybody he can He doesn't lick anything else though. Now my rottie gets on my nerves so much he licks everything and is always licking There is something you can spray on things that may stop it, try using the search engine top right and search for the word licking.

Yep. Bud is a licking machine, drives hubby crazy. He even licks the air while he walks around the house. Brighid has learned not to lick faces unless you tell her she can but other than that she's a licker too.

Beau licks a lot, but Samantha not as much! When I first got Beau, he licked a lot more but he's settled down in the past 3 months.

Joe is a licker AND a sniffer. I don't even know why I bother to hire people to come and wash my windows. They are all slimy 10 minutes after they leave!:p

I've given up on the windows! I should buy stock in windex!! Our slider is forever caked with eye boogies, nose prints, food, and paws!

I never knew that Boxer had a thing for sniffing but w/ everyone's reply i definitely learned a lot. thank you all!

One of Magnum's nicknames is "lick-a-ma-ly" because he licks EVERYTHING...

Omar's ears, Omar's face, Greg's shaved head etc... you never have a problem getting a kiss from Magnum. We have to warn people that are petting him that even though he is sitting down, he may sneak a kiss in.

Omar rarely licks or gives kisses. He will lick the window though while watching outside and it's so funny to watch if you're on the other side.

They both LOVE to help me load the dishwasher and lick everything in it - dishes, the door - they are my "pre-rinse" cycle.
