Ok so I've had other dogs before and I of course loved them but nothing like Fletcher. It's almost like he's human he's got such a personality. So I of course talk alot about him. I'm always telling people stories about some cute thing he did or some funny face he made, or better yet showing people pictures. They look at me like I'm a crazy woman. I even had someone I work with tell me that he was "just a dog" Well I'll take my "just a dog" over his company any day!!! Anayway just wondering if people think your a little nutso about your boxers.

Being the only one in my family (and with the in-laws) that is animal insane..yes, they all look at me as if I am mad as a hatter most times. But like the other poster, most of the time I prefer the company of my furbabies than to any of the family :) Lucklily one of my closest and dearest friends is just like me in regards to our furbabies!

Knowing how I felt about my Blizzy, they all dreaded when the time came for Blizzy to leave for the Bridge. They all figured I'd need to be heavily sedated and checked into a psych unit. (probably did need meds and a jaunt at the unit might have been a welcomed escape :))

When guests come into my home & I start laying down the dog/training rules, that's when I get the funny stares.

They look at me & they smile sweetly, but their faces say, 'A bit OTT, it's just a dog!'

I am also obsessed with my boxers....luckily my brother who has a gsd and a golden retriver is just as crazy as i am.....I'd love to see the time we actually spend on the phone talking about our dogs. Its good to have someone who will talk non stop about our beloved fur babies. Most of my friends and family are also animal lovers...so no matter where we are we have lots of them to love.

Same here. People think that I am over the top too. But then they don´t have a boxer which is not just any dog.

I am crazy, and lovin every minute of it!! :) My boys are my world, and I would do anything for them, just cause they are dogs, dont mean they are not part of my family.

Sometimes when I hear myself talking about my 2 I'm aware that i must sound like a weirdo i must admit but they are such a big part of my life.
Although my kids are almost 14yrs and almost 18yrs old i feel kind of redundant.
I said to my non dog loving friend that some women would now have a baby (empty nest syndrome sort of), i on the other hand have 2 fur babies which is much better :)
I am obsessed with them and every aspect of taking care of them.

this is why i love Boxerworld

The best is when people are telling stories about their skinkids and I chime in with a story about my furbaby! They look at me like, "are you really comparing your dog to our kids?" I know I probably shouldn't be doing it, but I can't help it. He acts just like a little kid and the things he does are hilarious! My husband and I talk about him constantly! I think I probably seem obsessed to alot of people, but luckily most of my family feels the same way about their furbabies to. Also, alot of times its hard to lay down rules to people (Tyler jumps on them and they say, "it's ok I love dogs" or "what do you expect, it's a boxer!") but alot of people appreciate the fact that I am trying to teach him good behaviors. I love this website bc I dont have to worry about seeming obsessed or neurotic - i know everyone on here loves and cares about their babies as much as I do.
