Completely Boxer Crazy
Hammer beans when he's happy which is always, but only woo-woos when we have something he wants and aren't giving it to him....ie cheeto's.

Ginger only beans when we come home! No woo-woos at all. But she drools like a demon when we have cheeto's!

Lexi kidney beans mostly when we get home. I've never heard her woo woo. I'm still hoping, but she turned one at the beginning of the month.

The closest we've come is her barking - whenever she plays. What this means is: ALOT.

Thanks everyone! Definitely sounds like every boxer is different when it comes to the kidney beaning and woo-woo. I sure hope one day that Debo will do both....it's just so precious, but I'll survive if he doesn't!:D Here is another question for you all...Debo was 7 months old on the 6th. He weighs 54 lbs. now. Yesterday at Petsmart we saw a 6 mo. old male boxer who was much smaller. Is 54 lbs. on target for a 7 month old...or is Deebs on the unusual one? He's not fat at all....just a big boy!
Thanks!

my guy kidney beans constantly but his sound is more like "yaaar yaaar YAAAAAAAAAAAR"

What is that link to the "woo woo" sound? Maybe I don't speak boxer yet and he's really saying woo woo.

Oh, how do I describe the woo-woo sound?? :D When our Jazz did it, it was this low pitched type of noise that sounded pretty much like this "woo-woo" sound that seemed like it was coming from deep down in his throat! It would start out quiet, then get louder the more excited he got. He'd really draw it out sometimes and pucker up his mouth. It was just the cutest thing you ever heard. He'd go on for the longest time especially if my husband did it back to him. I just loved it.....and miss hearing it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Debo develops it one day! :D Your dog's Yarrr, might be his version of woo-woo!!

You'll know it when you see it!

It's when they get excited and curve their body like a kidney bean. My guy does it when anyone approaches. I love it how he flattens his ears, smiles and beans. Oh, and their butts just wiggle and wiggle.

Murray does both. He kidney beans as soon as I start talking to him. He only seemed to woo-woo whenever the fire horn went off in our neighborhood -- that's a guaranteed woo-woo complete with puckered lips and all. Now I notice he's woo-wooing alot more -- especially when he wants something from me. :)

My Layla kidney beans with the best of them, but i have never heard her make any sound that is woo woo-like. She wines and cries all the time when she wants something, she sneezes and snorts when she is excited, and very occasionally barks at something suspicious, but no woo woos :( oh well, she's all boxer anyways! :D

Not only does my Boxer kidney bean & woo-woo, but my Choc Lab/Aussie Mix has now picked it up. It's pretty hilarious to see a 100lb. goofball trying to pull this off like his brother. :)
