Do Boxers Like WATER?? To Swim, play etc..?

Angus loves the water, we also have a cottage on a lake and he spends as much time in as out of the water. He is a great swimmer and loves retreiving sticks and balls from the water. It did take him a while (maybe 4 or 5 visits to cottage) before he learned to swim well and became comfortable. He is a fairly small boxer at approx. 60 lbs, tall and slim and very fit. Is this the boxer build that swims best I wonder?

Layla loves water as well. She rubs her head on the bottom of her kiddie pool and blows bubbles. She's like this in natural water too (see my gallery). She even stands with her head in the water when I shower!

Luke on the other hand HATES water. He will walk through it but he won't swim and he hates bathes. We have to carry him into the tub and it is no easy task!

Diva loves to swim, but only at the beach. She just loves jumping the waves to go after a ball and she is quite okay with getting dumped by incoming waves. I must add that this dog is quite fearless and always has been. :D Monty on the other hand isn't quite sure about this water that crashes over, but he is only nine months old.

Domino swims like a fish and evern goes underwater to get his kong football that sinks

It might take him a bit to get used to the water. Give your baby some time.

Lexiss LOVES water!!!

Right after we got her (she was probably 13 weeks old), we went to the lake and were fishing, I cast the line into the water and Lexiss jumped right in after it!! Needless to say I just about died!! I didn't think she was going to be able to swim , I was ready to jump in after her, then she figured it out but she was swimming away from us toward the middle of the lake, seriously I almost had a heartattack,which could have been really bad expecially since I was only 24!!! Anyways she loves the water now, if I fill the bathtub up with water to take a bath she will jump right in and lay in it. Crazy thing!!

Our male Tinee hates baths, playing in the water, everything!!!
I guess they are really quite like humans they have their preferences to!
