Disc Dogs!!!

Just wondering how many Boxers out there love catching Frisbees/ discs?

My Boxer mix girl LOVES it. I've competed in some Novice Toss and Fetch competitions with her. If I could throw better, we'd might actually place once in a while! My male catches a disc but only to keep it away from my female. On his own he'll just wait for it to hit the ground and then retrieve it. It's like he doesn't want to use any more energy than he has to.

Jada LOVES to play Frisbee. We just realized she enjoyed the game last fall when we went to our local dog park and someone left behind a frisbee. During the Fall and Winter she could play for hours, I was usually the one to quit when my hands were so cold and wet (she likes to drop and step on it the frisbee). In the summer months she will play in spurts and then lay down and take a break.

Nice! Panzer stands on the frisbee, when he's not playing keep away... Haven't tried a competition, but it's cool to see others are doing it. Those competitions always seem focused on border collies. Nice to hear boxers are represented.

Jada is hit an miss brining it back. When I get her playing in the dog park or the field near our house she usually brings it back to my general area and drops it, but proceeds to step on it. When we play in our back yard which is much smaller obviously she does more a keep away. I'm sure I could get super strict and train her to bring it right to me . . . but why bother. We have fun regardless.

Not my 2 they like to play tug of war with each other. Then if one gets the toy they play tag after each other. Sometimes when I throw their toys to them they sometimes catch them in the air but I don't see any inclinations of frisbee loving. I've bought a couple of frisbees in the beginning when they were younger in hopes they might like it - but not so much.
