I use a kiddie pool. The dogs know that before they come inside they have to walk through the pool and then have their feet wiped. It works better than just the wipe, because the water helps loosen up the mud. Your other choice is to remove your carpet and replace with surfaces that are easier to clean!

I also have a backyard full of mud, and eight paws with chuncks of mud and grass in them everytime I let Max and Harlie out! I also use baby wipes! Harlie hates it, Max puts up with it. Its much better than having to run through the house, wiping and scrubbing all the footprints off the carpet. Yep...baby wipes are a godsend. We go through a pack a week!

Just a side note - you can get unscented baby wipes. I get the unscented ones with Aloe Vera in them.

At places like Petsmart they sell "doggie wipes" but IMO they are just baby wipes (repackaged - and more expensive).

We use to try using baby wipes, but began to use way too many when Jackson was really muddy so now we just use a bucket and a big towel. Believe me, there is quite a bit of mud in the bottom of that bucket when it settles.

Well I have ceramic tile and I think I am going to go for the paw print in each tile that way it looks normal:p Just kidding......I just keep cleaning his paws off.

We use baby wipes on Boomer - they are a lifesaver! I checked with our vet and he said to make sure to use unscented wipes. Good luck:p

Oooo thanks! This has become a problem now that we will be staying with mymom for a while. She has a yard and Mac and my sister's dog Mollie LOVE to run and wrestle, and Mac spends half the time on his back in the dirt. So now my mom's house has little blakc paw prints all over the wood floor...and my mom is a NEAT FREAK! Baby wipes are on my shopping list!
