Just to correct what I wrote above on what I'm giving her. It says same for morning, except I'm giving her vitamin E for the evening, well for her weight 30 pounds I'm only giving her fish oil in the morning. So basically fish oil in the morning and vitamin E in at night

Given that she's had such an issue, I'd give her one fish oil capsule in the AM and one in the PM.

I was doing that but noticed a lot of runs. She's gaining weight and I believe the capsules that I give are per 20 pounds and shes' almost 30 pounds, so maybe in a few weeks I can try again to give her one in the morning and one at night.

The per 20 pounds is just a guide. My 60 pound female takes 7 fish oil capsules daily and is just fine. My boy who is 67 pounds now takes 4 daily.

It's near impossible to find any bumps on Roxy now, but as soon as I do I put nu-stock on that area. It's been two weeks since she's gotten her last shot and tomorrow she's supposed to be put on advantage multi. Looks like we're going to go with the advantage multi every two weeks for 3 more times and then after we'll do a skin scrapping and if everything turns out alright, then advantage multi will just be used monthly.

I have a few questions though, one is when would I have to be less worried about her red manage returning? I've heard that when she's not a puppy anymore that she should never get red manage again, is this after she's a year old or maybe a year and a half?

The reason I'm asking is that even if advantage multi offers even the slightest support against red manage I'll be happy to use it, but hoping that once she's a certain age and the probability of her getting red manage is very slim I can get her off of advantage multi and possibly look at other treatments for heartworm and fleas.

What I've noticed is that the white around her mouth seems extremely red and agitated and I'm not sure if I should actually put nu-stock on this area even though i can't tell if there's really bumps or the way her face is naturally. I know nu-stock says it's safe and non-toxic, but I'm not sure if this red part of her face will eventually go away?

A lot of her hair is still really thin and I'm wondering if it will ever grow back as thin as it once was? A friend of mine who used to have a pittbull told me that his dogs hair never grew back completely. He only had his dog as a puppy and when his family split up his wife took the dog, so I'm not sure if he actually saw the dog when it was older and if the hair never really did grow back at the end.

I've known people with dogs that had mange as pups and then got better but had various attacks of it as they got older. Seemed to just depend on the dog. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's probable either. For MOST dogs, once they get over it they're okay.

Did the ones that you knew who had it as they were older have other issues? I've been trying to research it as much as possible and a lot of sites seem to indicate that if the dog is older and is having mange, then it's an indication that they might have cancer or some other problem that's effecting their immune system.

No. Some say there is a correlation between hypothyroidism later in life with pups that had manage and I think a couple had that, but nothing major no. It was usually something stressful happened, new baby in the home, a move, a surgery, that type fo thing.

It's been two weeks since Roxy had her last shot and I really don't see any signs of bumps. I see a little bit of skin flaking, but barely and her hair is thin, but seems to be growing back everywhere. She seems to want to scratch a little bit mostly brushing up against walls.

Well today was the day i saw my vet, since it's been two weeks and today is the last day I will use this vet.

Well the vet put on advantage multi and had me bring Roxy in so he could show me how to put it on her. He sold me 6 pack with 5 more treatments left. Originally he told my wife we need to put on the treatment 3 times in total with 2 weeks apart. When I asked him about that he told me I needed to finish the entire package, which means 6 treatments every 2 weeks.

Well the package clearly says one treatment once a month. The bill at the end even says to follow the instructions of heatworm preventative and that over dosage is dangerous for your dog. So I'm a little bit nervous about giving Roxy the advantage multi every two weeks, even though I've read online other vets recommending advantage multi every two weeks for months.

I'm considering giving her the advantage multi monthly as the box recommends and every two weeks give her a bath with maybe something that will help a little bit better. The shampoo my vet recommended I don't think helped at all to be honest and everybody goes on and on about neem oil shampoo, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere I've looked, but just recently I found a link to it here, which I'm thinking about buying it and give her a bath every two weeks with it and advantage multi monthly. If I see any bumps I'll use nu-stock right away on those areas, since I have an extra tube of that stuff.

I'm also reading how great people think Borax is, which I'm not completely sure what Borax is, but mixing water, hydrogen peroxide and Borax and giving the dog a bath once a week people really love it.
I read somewhere that a guy was putting Borax in the dogs drinking water as well, which I really don't know if that's safe.

I was going to wait a month as well before going to a new vet to get Roxy checked out and to do a skin scrapping

Since you give them so much fish oil, do you give them extra vitamin E or just one pill of vitamin E?
