Just though i'd share how dark it is here in Scotland!!! It's 16.55pm and it's pitch black out there!!! well seeing the clocks went back this weekend! i don't finish for another 35mins and i have a long walk to the station i hate walking in the dark! need to learn to drive and quick!

I can identify! I hate everything between June 21st, when the days start getting shorter and Dec 21st, the shortest day of the year! On the darkest day, we only get about 8 hrs of daylight. That's not enough for me!!! (all part of my argument to move someplace warm and sunny all year round)

As for daylight savings, I really dislike coming home from work in the dark; I would MUCH rather leave for work and come home with at least an hour of sunlight left.

worse is that it is dark when I leave for work AND dark when i come home from work!! Plus because my city is circled with mountains, we get a lot of haze that blocks the sunlight we might get(the mountains hold the guncky air in :( ) No wonder I'm a grouch all winter- I NEED sunshine!!!!

BF and I were just discussing yesterday how depressing the early days are. I don't know how many members we have in the northernmost parts of the world, like Alaska and such, but I personally cannot imagine dealing with months of darkness. I know it's not pitch black dark all the time during those periods, but every now and then a person needs some direct sunlight! :)

I don't like this time of year either.... I thrive on sunshine! The days in Philly seem a bit better than Michigan so far--not in terms of length of the day, of course, but at least there is more sunshine when it is daylight. Hope it's not a fluke!
