He is absolutely beautiful!

He would be technically "incorrect" for showing (more than a 1/3 white or white on ears is considered incorrect).

He is a flashy boxer, not necessarily poorly bred, many well bred boxers are white or have too much white ... that's genetics & thats a whole different thread!

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the info. Very interesting!

I so wish I could adopt another right now. Tae needs a little brother. This guy would be on the wish list, but I would of course need to find a proper match for my bossy and spoiled 22 mo old! She also needs some more obedience training before we add to the family.

If I`m not mistaken he could be what is called a "check".
Here is a link on Boxer coloring for you.

AND if you want to compare a color I have never seen on a Boxer (I suppose this photo was years ago....decades) what was referred to a blue.

The link for all color varieties is:

Hi Becky, if you received you Boxer club newsletter there are 3 Boxers listed looking for new homes. Two are males (1 being a 2 year old) and another is a 10 week puppy with a broken leg that needs either amputation or repair.

Hi Barb!

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if he was considered "checked". I could just eat that boy up he's so cute. I keep looking at his pictures.

I totally owe you a PM and will send you one soon.

Are you going to the TH Boxer Club meeting on Sunday?

I wouldn't consider him a check. True checks are more like painted ponies -- large splashes of white on the saddle, etc. They almost look like white dogs with big dollops of color.

Where this particular dog is mismarked tends to be an extensions of where color is permissable, with the exception of the ear.

Some have argued that the true check is gone from North American (at least) show lines.
