Hi, everyone! Well, I spoke with my sister and she swears the park in Fairfield is in fact off-leash. How far is Fairfield from Waterford? I'm guessing about 45 minutes. I'm thinking, though, that it may be equally distant from Monroe and Waterford. ctboxer, that is such a bummer about Jasper. It sounds like your handling it well, though, and trying to make a difference - both for him and for future puppies. These brokers really need to be stopped, and I admire your efforts. bikerhoff, don't worry about your puppy jumping. Jakey is still like that, and he's 5! Hope we can plan a get-together soon. - Suz

Hi all, late to this thread, but we're going to be moving to CT later this year, probably late Nov. Would love to meet up sometime, although I guess for us it might have to wait until spring, I'll keep checking in. Our Roscoe is 2 this month, neutered brindle boy. (There's some pics in our gallery if you're interested!)

We're going to be living in the Groton/New London area. My husband is Navy and will be teaching submarine schools there for a couple of years. We actually lived there for just a few months about 3 years ago while he attended a school and really enjoyed it so we are excited about getting to go back there.

bikerhoff - I think i remember which park is Harkness, if I remember correctly that is where we used to go and fly kites. Is it an off-leash area? We didn't have Roscoe at the time so I didn't pay any attention.

ctboxer - Hope Jasper is doing well, he's lucky to have you to take such good care of him!

Hope we can get something together sometime, always fun to meet more boxers!:)

Hi Martins, yes Harkness park is probably where you flew kites, we've done a lot of that there too. It is not an off leash park.
Have a safe move from Hawaii, we'll see you in the fall!
Suzanna and CTboxer, hope we can get together sometime too! I've been taking Marco out more and more, he still wants to play with every dog and person, but I am able to get him calmed down a lot quicker and keep his jumping to a minimum. I actually took him to a park with a river that was shallow enough so both of us could run around and splash! He loved it! I couldn't get him out! See you guys soon!

better late than never?

Hey guys, I just saw this thread. I live in Norwalk too! Haven't been to any of the dogs parks in this area though. It would be fun to arrange a get together in an off leash (fenced) place. I've heard that the park in Norwalk is fenced.
Lets try to do it before the snow flies?
Suzanna, which rescue did you get Jake from? I know someone locally who does rescue, she works through Strawberry Hill Animal Hosp.

Hi, Tink. It's too funny that you live in Norwalk. Taylor Park is LOOSELY fenced. There are parts where the dogs can definitely "escape." You were right - we adopted Jake from Michelle McArdle who fosters through Strawberry Hill. How did you find your boxer baby? - Suz

I just ADORE Michelle McArdle!! She is how I found Strawberry Hill! LOL I got Luke from Clay Haviland (Garnsey Boxers), but Tina Starr from Ivylane Boxers connected me with Clay since he has recently moved to FL from CT. She really did all the legwork for me and I'm in her debt for that. :) She is wonderful.

When the time comes for Luke to get a sister I'm going to rescue thru Michelle, no doubt.
