Boxer Pal
I understand your fustration
My boy Walter three weeks ago jumped off of the couch and then begain to limp. I had brought him to the vet that week and they suspected an acl tear, put him on rimadyl and told me that surgery is in his future. I was kind of upet about this but whatever it takes to fix his leg I was all for. He had a check up the week after that and had to see a different doctor, x-rays were taken and the vet told me that it was certainly an acl tear and that surgery had to be done asap. So it was scheduled for Feb 16th. I dropped him off and was told to call at 2:00pm. I did as i was told and when i called there i was told that Walter did not have his surgery done for two reasons: another x-ray was done of the knee joint and showed no problems, and the other was that they thought he may have lymphnode problems, labs were drawn and sent out and i should be getting the results either tomorrow or wednesday. Fingers are crossed! So my dog was sent home with more rimadyl and lymphomax to detoxify his lymphnodes and the vet told me that Walter's leg is fine and I shouldn't worry because his appitite is good and he hasn't lost any weight!!!! I was blown away my poor little baby does this "bunny hop" as said above and needs to be carried up steps and onto the couch. He does do better once he warms up and sometimes it really dosent seem to bother him he would rather play on three legs then not to play at all. Its so discouraging for me to see him like this. He also has troubles getting up and getting comfortable. I have switched vets and he is going to see a new one today but i think i will bring up the possibility of a back injury. What gets me is that when i pet him and when i check his range of motion in his leg he seems to not have any pain in his back or his legs??? And there is no swelling and he does not whine so I am at a loss.
