floppies

I call Libby's ears her big floppies - I'm glad we didn't crop them; she has a much freindlier appearance with natural ears, and I love to rub her ears - they're so soft!!!

Cropped

My Boxers are all cropped. I prefer cropped ears in my personal dogs. And believe me, I love to rub their ears also and they are still velvety soft :)

In my opinion I prefer 8 and 9 weeks old. They come out of it incredibly well, have less ear to crop and sleep alot...zzzzzzzzz. Most vets will not do a puppy older than 12 weeks.

One of my pups was just cropped at 8 weeks. I spent 2 hours playing with him the next day until he fell asleep in my arms :)

All my babies are cropped but I have seen many natural ears that look great also. I voted for both but will always crop...I can't seem to make myself take the chance on the natural ear laying properly.:)

I like the ears cropped. We had Ollie's ears done after considerable thought, and I'm glad we did. The healing and taping process is a pain, but he tolerated very well. Better than we did. I think it makes the dog look proud and strong.:D

If you haven't had it done, you may have a difficult time finding a vet that will do it. It appears as though most of them are reluctant to do it for some reason. Our vet neither encouraged nor discouraged it. He said he would do it if we wanted it done. And he did an excellent job. I think his biggest concern was that the ears may not stand as they should, and we would be unhappy with them. If I get another boxer, I would have his/her ears cropped as well.

Natural Ears here....

Its natural, so I left them natural....If I am going to have my puppy put under I would rather it be for a medical necessity....Her tail was already cropped when we got her so I had no choice in that part of it...I do like the cropped look as well but mine will always have Natural :D

We have two flashy fawn females, both have cropped ears, they had no trouble after the surgery, I feel that the cropped ears help to show off their intellegence, they use them like antenas when they are evedroping on our conversations, it is a sight to see.also it makes them look very regal and people really take notice of them. I have seen Boxers with floppy ears, and although they are really cute ,I have to look a second time to see if it is really a boxer, but not with one that has cropped ears, you notice right away it is a boxer
