No, Ginger hates it. It is our first brutally cold day this month, 18 with windchills about 0. She did not want to pee in her area (gravel) it was a solid piece of ice. Poor thing:( I look it like just think about going outside barefoot in these temps. She does her business & runs right to the door.

Snow and Cold

Gracie didn't like it for more than a couple of minutes when she was a young puppy (6 months or so and younger), but now she loves it! She runs through the snow with her head down and her mouth open.
She still doesn't like strong winds like we have today, though. She keeps asking to go out, but when I open the door and she hears and feels the wind, she turns around and runs back in. Silly girl.

Both of my furbabies love being outside regardless of the weather.
Napoleon will even stand out in the rain.

It has been pretty cold here the past few days and I am really having a hard time making them come back in the house. One day last week when it was pretty cold out, they wouldn't come in and I had to go to work.
I had to leave them out until my son came home. It was just a couple of hours and they have a doghouse but I still felt really bad for having to leave them out. They are perfectly safe in the backyard, I have made sure of that, no bad plants, they can't get out and nobody can get in, etc.

My son said when he got home they came in, rested for about 15 minutes and wanted right back out. They stayed out for most of the day even though the temps were in the 30's. When they finally came in, they just wanted to eat and go to bed.

I guess it is just whatever they like to do.

Vegas hates the cold and wind. He goes out with his little nubbie tucked under and his ears back. He won't do any of his business with his coat on either, he will just sit there at the door until you take his coat off then he will go.

Today (in Toronto) its -21 with out the windchill. Very cold, we will be lucky if we can get him to go outside today. I don't blame him, I don't want to go out either.

At first I thought Keno was going to be one of those boxers who don't seem to mind the cold...but now that its realllly cold here (-1 with the windchill this morning) I can barely get him to go out at all ! We woke up yesterday to about an inch of snow and I thought foresure Keno would be having a ball running around the backyard playing in it...but nope, he only played with Daisy for a few mins and then he was ready to come in ! It was cute because Daisy was running all around him trying to get him to chase her, but he wasn't having any part of it ! But ofcourse with the built up energy he has from not letting it off outside, he and Daisy have been running thru the house like it's a race track ! ;)

Brrrrrrr!!! I'm ready for summer already & winter has just begun ! :)

Although it's meant to be summer here over Christmas time, the weather is as cold as autumn and not nice at all. Our two don't know what snow is so it's with great interest I read all the posts about dogs and snow. Both Cinda and Zak just love getting out even when the rain is horizontal to the ground, pushed by southerly gales and feels like stinging needles to the face. This sort of wind seems to excite Cini and she does her burns around the hilltops. Even the coldest weather winter can give us isn't so bad you can't go out in it. Maybe this next winter we'll seek snow out with the two dogs and find out what they think about it.
;) wackicon;)
