Disagree....

I don't know that I agree that boxers should never be left outside unless supervised. Quite frankly I don't see anything wrong with that, as long as the yard is secure and there is nothing there to cause them harm.
I am betting that my 2 boxers are outside right now lying in the sun, digging in their sand pit and generally having a blast (in the secured back yard with locked gates). It is a gorgeous day with the sun out and they love nothing better than to be outdoors in weather like this. I left them inside this morning (it is was cold this morning), and I have a pet sitter who comes by at noon, and I bet she would have left them outdoors for the afternoon.
As long as the yard is secured, and there is nothing dangerous outdoors for them to get into, and the weather is appropriate, there is no reason why a dog can't be outdoors.
Regarding the crate issue, it would certainly be nice to have one for your puppy. I would suggest seeing if you can get a second hand one that might be cheaper.

There are always some exceptions that prove the rule, but I would never leave my Boxers outside unattended for hours in the yard, just as I would never do that with my own kids.

There are too many things that can go wrong. Both of my Boxers can jump a 6 foot privacy fence. They can also dig under one.

I would also be afraid of someone stealing my pet. If you go over to the lost/found section on this web site, you will read stories of this happening.

I too, live in Texas and would agree that it is a lovely day today (sunny with highs in the low 60's). It would be a GREAT day for my Boxer to spend some time outside. But typical Texas (hot) weather is not tolerated well at ALL by Boxers (neither is extreme cool weather). Boxers aren't meant to be outdoor dogs.

The reason I dont have the money is because I have to buy it myself because the dog was a gift to me from an ex boyfriend of mine and my parents didnt even know i was getting it so they told me if i kept it i had to pay for everything that it needed except for the vet bills and stuff like that..I'm only 16 and I dont have a job i only get 20 dollars every 2 weeks and most of that goes toward her food...

The only time she is ever outside is when im gone to school and when i come home she comes inside until its time for her to go back out to use the bathroom ..

Maybe you can ask your parents for a loan and buy the crate and repay it back a little at a time. I have two daughters and I would gladly do that for them. I would want my daughters pet to have what they needed just as I would want my grandchildren to have what they needed. Actually, the girls dogs are my grandchildren and I kinda like it that way, they love anything I buy for them at Christmas, etc... and don't complain if it isn't in style.

Maybe you will get some money for xmas, also check the newspaper often when people get rid if thier dogs (this happens way too often) they will sell thier things in the paper or try walmart for cheaper crates.
