Boxer Pal
Not sure if I'm under the right forum catagorie but here are of couple of things I'm carious about. The first thing is I have a 14 week old boxer pup named sash she weighs 29 pounds.
She gets fed in the morning 1.5 cups dry food Innova and then a couple of spoons of canned food at 6:30am and then again at 5:30pm but from time to time not all the time she will want food about 9pm she sits at the bowl and whines untill she gets a handful of dry food and then she is fine. Is this normal? She gets to play for about an half hour at lunch and then a good run and play fetch at 5 or 6 for about an half hour. I take her to a huge field that is by my house that is about a ten minute walk there and then I throw a tennis ball as far as i can untill she gets bored are kinda starts to slow down.It amazing how smart she is she atomatically started bring back the ball on her own! Should she be running this much or do I run her to hard she loves to do this. I do it just about everyday of the week. Now that its getting cold she doesnt seem to go as long and sometimes she doesnt want to go at all she would rather play fetch in the house or tug of war with her spider animal thing. I put a sweater on her but she goes pooty and wants to go back in. Is this normal behavior? Another thing is she is solid muscle and doesnt seem fat, the vet says she is amazing and in great shape. but after reading some other post there dogs only wiegh about 13 to 20 pounds.
I was thinking about in rollling her in puppy classes but she knows how to sit, shake, rollover, come, leave,no,off, stay and walks fine on the leash. she gets along with the neighbors dogs fine loves to go over to the inlaws and play with there dogs and buddy dog which is a rotshepard mix that wieghs 100 pounds and plays great with all the dogs. She sits bye the doors when she needs to go out.Got her at 9weeks and she pretty much picked up on going potty she needs to sit by the door. Only had one time when she peed on the rug. But other then that she got it all down paw. She understand when to go to the crate when we say bed. She love to cuddle and sleep in bed with us. So I guess is puppy classes really worth the money?
Is there any training other then working with her a couple of hours every night I should be doing different?
Sorry for the long post just wanted to get this out there and see what people thought?

Completely Boxer Crazy
My dog is 6 months old and I still feed him 3 meals a day. He still wants his lunch so I don't mind feeding him lunch as I don't want to feed him too much kibble on one meal. I don't know what the feeding instruction for Innova, I know only that Innova is one of the high-star rated dog food (check www.dogfoodanalysis.com) so I assume you don't want to feed your dog too much, it is very nutrient-dense. Although you might want to introduce Sash lunch. I heard that many do much better three meals a day.
About running, I am not sure how long a 14 week puppy can do. I know only if you walk a puppy on leash, each month is 5 minutes (the first month does not count), so a 5 month old puppy should walk on leash only 20 minutes. But I think it all depends on the weather. I live in a very hot and humid country all year round so 10 minutes walk for my 6 month old during a day is quite much. Midday walk for potty, after his business Oscar always heads straight home.
Puppy class, they show the first important commands such as sit, stay, down, come, heel. So if you think Sash can do all that, you don't need to sign up for the class but it is the way to socialize her, she will get to meet many other puppies. I take my dog to the dog run to get him socialize with other dogs. There are many classes such as agility class, so your dog can learn how to jump thru the hoolahoop or run thru a tunnel and etc.
You seem to be very lucky with your dog that she looks like she is already housetrained. I am still housebreaking my 6 month old!

Probably not. Too much forced exercise can cause joint and bone problem. Her desire to chase the ball, may be greater than her common sense that tells her that she is tired and it's time to stop.

Definitely a good idea. It's very important for socialization purposes and she will learn of work around other dogs.
