Could they discern a dangerous animal?

My parents' Aussie definitely does NOT discern danger. He went in the water after a water moccasin and actually caught him and rolled around. Thank GOD he didn't bite him. Shortly after that, he got sprayed in the face by a skunk. He's a bright dog, but not fearful enough.

Way to go Avra! I think Tess would have tried to box it.

Thankfully no one dog had an accident with a snake :)

I am deathly afraid of snakes....to the point of passing out...well Adikus my GSD was running in the soccer field....next thing I know Adikus is running towards me with out the ball in his mouth....but what looked like a wiggley stick...well much to my surprise....yep it was a snake

Laurie that brought in my mind a Siamese cat that i had years ago,we named him Tom and we have always a window open thus he was able to go in and out.At that time my daughters were about 3 and 4 years old and one day i got up and went at our daughters room and saw Tom that was playing with the snake(half dead) in frond of the bed of the girls.I'm not afraid of the snakes so i was able to pick it up
An other day he brought a rat and once a little mouse....he loved to bring presents :)

My dingy boxer

All Coco wants to do is play with them! We are nearly over run with garter snakes during the spring & summer. Coco always tries to play with them. She hasn't ever gotten bit, they just try to get away but she won't leave them alone until we give her the "leave it" command. She sniffs & does the jackhammer. I'm glad they're not dangerous.
