Constantly eating grass

Champ must be part cow. He grazes and eats a TON of grass all the time. He never throws it up though. He'll do it on any given day, any time.

He does it when we're just hanging out outside, and then when we're on walks, and he's a little out of breath, he triesto grab mouth fulls, as if it were water. Why is this??

I get nervous because you never know what people have put on their grass and I just can't imagine eating that much is good for him. I really mean he eats A LOT of it.

I can't explain why they do it, but my Bruiser does the same thing and it is usually this time of the year. Maybe it tastes different..... He will only eat certain types of grass and he as well doesn't throw it up. Wonder what goes through these silly Boxer's heads?

it really makes me crazy. He'd rather sit and eat grass than have a game of fetch sometimes. Then he coughs and hacks a lot of the time afterwards.

SuzyQ does the same thing - she loves to grab mouthfuls of grass and she's running - I guess it just tastes good.

Joey does the same thing. Sometimes he will whine to go outside only to eat grass.

Both of mine do the same thing. Sometimes, during our walks, I have to drag them away from the grass so we can get going! When they're in the backyard I watch them standing like a couple of cows grazing away. They especially like the long grass.

Over the last few days Chubs started doing this too. At first I was worried because he has lots of stomach problems and I thought he was nauceous again, but it seems like he just likes the taste of the grass. I can always redirect him with a toy or playing, and it doesn't stop him from running around at the dog park.

I trained Zeus on the poochie bells to go outside and do his business. Well, now he is ringing the bells to go outside to eat grass! :(

OK! I thought Cornelius was the only one. I swear he is part cow. When it's nice out, we usually have to tack on exatra 15 minutes to our walks because he stops every few feet to sample the grass. It's like a giant buffet to him. Silly dog!!!

Ms. Ali does the same thing. I don't worry. Sometimes it helps her if she has an upset stomach. My son saw a program on TV that said that dogs only eat healthy grass. Apparently there is some grass that causes cancer but dogs won't eat that type of grass. Did you ever notice how your dogs check out the grass. They don't eat every blade of grass. Ms. Ali puts her nose down and it seems like she's checking out the good stuff. Don't know if there is any truth to this but I wouldn't doubt it at all.
