Good news! Belle had her one week follow-up tonight, and she is doing really well. The chest x-ray showed that most of the fluid in her lungs had resolved, and her heart was not as enlarged as it was a week ago. Also, the ECG showed a regular rhythm with no PVCs. The blood work results will be in tomorrow, so we'll wait until then to add the digoxin into her meds. A good thing with the fluid resolving itself is that we should be able to back off on the Lasix. This medication has been causing Belle to urinate constantly, so it will help to cut it back some. I am looking into taking Belle to a holistic vet. I spoke with someone I really liked this afternoon. Mostly I am looking for someone to counsel us nutrition-wise and also counsel us about supplements. The cardiologist gave us a list of some supplements, but I would like to discuss this with someone further. Also, Belle has some significant areas of hair loss on her back and at the top of neck. The vet tonight thinks it is probably demodex, but we didn't do a skin scraping because I would not use any chemicals to treat it at this time. I'm thinking if we look at nutrition and supplements, and her health begins to stabilize, we will see improvement with regards to the hair loss. Belle is such a sweet girl, and we just love her to pieces, so it is such a relief to know that she is doing good right now. Take care everyone, and give your babies a big hug and kiss from me and Belle!
