Concidering a Boxer

my roxy is exceptional with children, not just my children

i have three children, one is a teenager and the other is a young man. My youngest son has many disablities, bi polar, adhd, hyper sensory problems, so with him i worried when i got a boxer, cause she is my first boxer. I got her at 8 weeks, and from day one i think she just knew he (my son) was special in so many ways. she is now 10 months old 65 lbs and that is my sons boxer, she is wonderful with him. he can flip out, throw stuff, have a melt down and roxy is right by his side. she's never acted out around him, and she protects him, and i was shocked to see how much her being around him calms him down so much faster. she follows me around, as i am her mommy. But she treats my son with disablities like he is her baby. she licks and lays with him and will not leave his side for anything. She is a absolute dream for our family. and other children, have slapped her back, pulled her ears, typical youngsters. But she loves them all. best down i have ever had the pleasure of owning.

We don't have any kids in the home or coming over. The youngest around Cora is 12. Cora is very active, just a ball of energy. She loves to chase, play rough. There have been times where a younger child has either approached Cora to pet her on our walks, or with family at the dog park and it really is amazing how she changes around them. And like I said its not even anything we've specifically worked on with her. She loves to gives kisses though and thats one thing we look out for. She can be chasing another dog but she calms down and becomes very gentle/careful around kids looking back at us, a little bit unsure maybe. They love to cuddle!

I have two girls 6 and 7 years old. I am also have a hyper 5 years old grandson. I am agree that a puppy is not a good idea with a toddler in the house, but like everyone said a rescue one that you can met in person and see how his personality is is great.
My grandson has a lot of fun with the girls and they all play together and get out all that energy so when all of them come inside I am a happy mama because they all are tired and ready for a nap. LOL
