companion dog for our boxer

I vote Boston Terrier!

When I wanted a companion for our Boxer, Hugo, all I knew is that I wanted a smaller breed. We decided on a Boston and he is Hugo's absolute best friend. When the Boston was little, Hugo was so gentle with him. Now, our Boston is 19lbs. and actually is tougher on Hugo than Hugo is on him! They play tug of war, and cuddle together, and chase each other through the house. I take them to the dog park every night to play and half the time they end up playing with each other. :D

I find that their temperament is almost identicle to the Boxer. It's almost lie someone shrunk a Boxer and painted him black!:D

We had our Boston before we got our Boxer (both female) and they where great friends! Trixie our Boston has since past and our Boxer has to stay at my inlaws house every week day, she gets lonely and they have a male Maltese and they get along great too! Boxers seem to get along w/ any breed! We are debating on a sister for Toby....another Boxer or Boston, so if you want a smaller breed BOSTON is your best bet!!!!

I have an older Pug that just adored playing with a friend's boxers. We got Ginger to keep her company and help her get some exercise. Ginger will egg her on and Pugga will chase Ginger around the living room until they both fall asleep. Some people have a problem with Pugs living with bigger dogs, but this has worked wonderfully for us.

I'm so glad I found this post. We have a Boston Terrier named Oreo. He'll be 2 on March 17th. We moved into a bigger house with a large, fenced yard and we decided to get a buddy for Oreo. My husband has always wanted a boxer. We are adopting a boxer/terrier mix, under 2, girl. We are hoping they are the best of friends. This post has made me feel better about the size difference.

I was worried about the size difference too, especially when I brought my tiny little Boston home. But so far, so good! They are the best of friends, and our Boxer lets the Boston climb all over him and chew on his floppy jowls!:D
